As a fashion editor, the words "fall fashion" immediately provoke enthusiastic excitement. Call me dramatic, but there is nothing like the Rolls Royce of fashion seasons to inspire creative layering and expressive styling. I particularly geek out over the fresh trends the new fall season brings and after eagerly analyzing the F/W 2024 collections, I've found a whole host of styles that I can't wait to buy into this upcoming season.

If you're looking for some guidance on what items to invest in this fall, then keep scrolling below as I share eight styles that will make your wardrobe look altogether on-trend this upcoming season. I'm also sharing the trends that will be taking a back seat in my closet for now. From elegant silhouettes to trending prints, read on for the more wearable trends I plan on buying (and skipping) this fall.

Buying: Leopard Print

Skipping: Gingham Print

If the current brands and retailers are anything to go by, you know that leopard prints are about to be everywhere this fall. Whether you're in the "leopard is a neutral" camp or not, there's certainly something fresh and exciting about the statement style that we're about to see everywhere come September. Give your gingham a well-deserved break and opt for a chic blouse, slip dress, or statement accessories to lean into the trend.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Elegant Collars Necklines

Skipping: Balloon Sleeves

While we've already been covering the elegant aesthetic a lot this year, it's worth noting the significant renewed sense of sophistication on the F/W 24 runways. Think refined glamor with a shift towards elegant silhouettes such as '50s couture like cocktail dresses, A-Line silhouettes, tailored coats, smart handbags, sharp shoes, and one of my personal favorites: elegant collars. These rolled-collar, boatneck, and funnel necklines (all spotted on the runways of Chanel, Carven, Bevza, and Victoria Beckham to name a few) prove that it's time to put away the balloon sleeves for now and lean into refined, swan-like silhouettes.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Boho-Chic Aesthetic

Skipping: Barbiecore Aesthetic

There is no denying the effect Chloé's F/W 24 runway show has had on us here atBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing , igniting a fresh joy for boho fashion. Lean into the '70s aesthetic and opt for romantic ruffles, gorgeous sheer lace fabrics, hobo bags, and oversize sunglasses for a look that is just as rich as the more understated "quiet luxury" looks that have reigned over the past years.

Shop the trend:

Buying: 50 Shades of Green

Skipping: Tangerine

I could talk all day about the more predictable and much-loved shades of brown, gray, burgundy, and beige we saw all over on the F/W 24 runways, but it's the dominating green color palette that has caught my attention. From the return of rich olive and khaki green spotted at Gucci and Burberry to the acid-green knits at Prada and the pastels at Carven, there's no question I'll be adding the invigorating color to my wardrobe this fall.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Large Scarves to Swaddle

Skipping: Skinny Scarves

Scarf weather will soon be here, and the chicest way to wear the fall piece is draped and swaddled dramatically. Opt for large swathes of fabric in a block color via a coat, cape, sweater, or a single scarf and swoop it over your body in elegant style.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Burgundy Bags

Skipping: Mini Bags

Burgundy is one of 2024's biggest color trends, and one of the easiest ways to implement it into your look this fall is with a chic bag. We saw rich wine-colored purses all over the runways from Bottega Veneta to Gucci, and there are plenty of affordable iterations on the market right now that oozes a rich and expensive-looking aesthetic.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Liquid Leather

Skipping: Rigid Leather

Stow away your rigid leather moto jackets and lean into leather fabrics that feel and look soft and supple. From shirts and skirts to dresses and trousers, liquid leather dominated the runways. While black will never go out of style, there was a particular focus on blues, browns, and green hues.

Shop the trend:

Buying: Heritage Fabrics

Skipping: Toile

This fall, choose heritage tweeds, herringbone, plaids, Aran, and argyle knits that conjure up weekends in an English country house. Opt for maxi wool outerwear, wrap skirts, and classic crew-neck sweaters that lean into the cozy and timeless fall look.
