9 Chic and Wearable Street Style Trends Coming Out of Paris This Season
Couture Fashion Week is in full swing in Paris this week and my, what a fashion spectacle this season is turning out to be. The industry’s chicest members are in the City of Lights for a slew of shows which showcase the fantastical, one-off pieces designers have been dreaming up for the past few months. The runway looks tend to be even more directional, wonderful, outlandish and, sometimes, absurd, than what we typically see during the Ready-to-Wear shows that are held in February and September respectively and, often, for the couture circuit, show attendees will turn out in statement outfits of their own, which, yes, can be incredible, but really don’t have any basis in reality.
That said, this summer I’ve noticed the street style trends coming out of Paris’s Couture Fashion Week are more, for lack of a better word, wearable than ever. Wearable as in you could throw them on to go out for dinner without the risk of tripping up your waiter with a gargantuan train. Instead, I’ve been impressed at the simpler but no-less stylish outfits showgoers have been sporting, and I think you will be, too.
First things first, there’s a lot of pink which, let’s face it, really shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point. There’s also a focus on a certain type of shoe; one we’ve seen bubbling up over the past few weeks. It's also important to note there is still a reliance on the classics. And, in terms of accessories the takeaway is fairly simple, too; the bigger your earring, the better. For these looks and more (and shopping to boot), scroll on.
1. Denim On Denim
Style Notes: Double denim isn't a new but it's one that's looking a whole lot chicer this season, and that's down to the subtly looser jean silhouettes dominating the market right now, which fashion types are pairing with denim jackets over the Western-style shirting usually attributed with this look.

2. Cropped Jackets
Style Notes: It might be summer but with a climate that's very similar to our own, jackets are always a part of the Paris uniform. And, during Couture Fashion Week, I've noticed more and more cropped variations coming through.

3. Tees and Tailoring
Style Notes: Akin to TikTok's 2x2 theory, which sees people dressing themselves in two formal pieces balanced out by two casual items, this easy pairing of T-shirts and tailored trousers follows the same styling foolproof styling principle.

4. Plenty of Pink
Style Notes: In case you missed it, there's a Barbie movie coming out this month. Jokes aside, the influence of the film's release is sending pink-coloured shockwaves through the industry, culminating in countless pink street style looks.

5. Mesh Shoes
Style Notes: It's the shoe trend we didn't know we needed but now, it's everywhere. Be it delicate or jumbo weaves, mesh is reigning as summer's need-to-know shoe trend. Unsurprisingly they were everywhere you look on the streets of Paris.

6. Big Earring Energy
Style Notes: If there's one thing that's going to make all of your outfits feel on-trend for the season ahead, it's earrings. A huge deal on the autumn/winter 2023 runway, this jewellery look was quickly adopted by the style set, who have been wearing big earrings nonstop over the past few months and, evidently, during Couture Fashion Week, too.
Shop the Trend:
7. Ball Skirts
Style Notes: Be they maxi or mini, skirts have proven to be a hot-ticket item this year after living in the shadows of dresses for so long. Right now, those in the know are taking the middle ground with pretty, full midi skirts, which they then tone down with relaxed-fit tees and neutral accessories.
Shop the Trend:
8. Patou Bags
Style Notes: Everywhere you look in Paris right now, be it on the streets or perched on a stool in a bistro, you're sure to see a Patou bag. It's instantly recognisable shape works in the same way a statement logo would, only is significantly less ostentatious.
Shop the Trend:
9. Bandeau Columns
Style Notes: Décolletage-exposing necklines are all the rage at the moment, which is handy, as there's just been a bumper drop of bandeau dresses on the market for summer. Stick to minimal or column silhouettes to ensure your bandeau feels fresh and modern (and less boho than its predecessors. No offence, Sienna Miller).
