Victoria Beckham's Wedding Planner Is Taking on the Next Royal Wedding
This has been the year of the royals. Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their third child, Prince Louis; Megan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding captured the attention of millions; and another royal wedding is set for this fall.
The queen's granddaughter Princess Eugenie got engaged to longtime boyfriend Jack Brooksbank back in January, and the two are set to make things official on October 12, 2018. However, instead of following the usual protocol of a morning ceremony followed by a carriage ride, lunch, and black-tie reception, the couple is planning an entire wedding weekend.
According to the London Times, they've tapped celebrity party planner Peregrine Armstrong-Jones (the mastermind behind David and Victoria Beckham's lavish wedding reception in 1999) to orchestrate a two-day celebration. Friday is set to include the traditional wedding festivities similar to Prince Harry and Markle's event. Then, on Saturday afternoon, the newlyweds will continue the party with a carnival-themed bash on the Royal Lodge grounds.
"There will be dodgems and funfair rides, coconut shies, lots of food stalls, loads of cocktails, Bloody Marys for the hangovers, and a festival vibe," the Times reports, according to Vogue. As the mag points out, this carnival-inspired weekend wedding follows other high-profile celebrations that have embraced similar themes. Just this month, Chiara Ferragni threw a weekend-long wedding celebration complete with a custom-made amusement park. It's beginning to look like extended celebrations with whimsical, festival-inspired themes may be the wedding trend to watch this fall.
