This Is How Fashion Girls Wear Maxi Dresses
If you're not yet familiar with designer Rosie Assoulin, we're here to dutifully fill you in. Assoulin launched her namesake label in 2014, winning a CFDA award for womenswear just a year later. And fashion insiders, street style stars, and celebrities quickly took to the modern, feminine pieces and their acute attention to detail.
For the designer's S/S 17 collection, which she debuted yesterday at NYFW, Assoulin again proved her ability to create wearable versions of romantic fantasy. This was best displayed in her series of maxi dresses, each of which was styled in a street style worthy way, whether it be by layering it over a pair of pants, cinching it at the waist with a ribbon or belt, or accessorizing it to a T. Speaking of which, there was one standout accessory in particular worn by several of the models. Rosie Assoulin and luxury eyewear brand Morgenthal Frederics collaborated on a collection of colorful geometric sunglasses (available for purchase in February 2017) that perfectly complemented the upcoming season's feminine designs. They're bold yet subtle, just like Assoulin's clothing.
