This French-Girl Cardigan Has a 10,000-Person Waiting List

In case you were wondering, the French-girl craze has yet to die down. There's something about Parisiennes that grabs our utmost attention, especially when it comes to their clothing, and thanks to the beloved French clothing brand Sézane, dressing the part has never been easier. That is, until we heard about the brand's most coveted item, the Barry Cardigan, which currently has a 10,000 (yes, thousand)-person waiting list. The piece originally launched in September 2017 and sold out at an insanely quick rate, racking up a 50,000-person waiting list by February 2018. Available in a wide variety of colors, it can be worn backward and frontward, making the $120 price tag a little more justifiable.
For fall 2018, the brand restocked the cardigan, even launching it in eight new colors, but that still wasn't enough to keep the coveted knitwear item in stock as, once again, the waiting list crept its way up to five digits long, where it currently sits. While all of this sounds intimidating, Sézane has made navigating this highly coveted sweater's trajectory much easier, by creating an alert system that notifies you via email when your favorite style and size are restocking (which typically takes about one to two months).
Additionally, the brand now has stock specifically allocated for the U.S. market, restocking and launching new products every Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET. Shoppers in New York can also head to the flagship store to see if there are any cardigans that got left behind, as in-store stock is kept separately from the website. It's comforting to know that despite that daunting 10,000-person waiting list, Sézane is providing more than one way to ensure one of these cardigans makes its way into your closet in no time.
Below, shop the infamous French-girl cardigan in every color, and get your name on that waiting list fast.
