Sienna Miller Just Wore Her 2006 Met Gala Minidress for a Night Out

We can only imagine the fashion treasures lurking in the surely vast wardrobe of Sienna Miller. This is a woman who has been dressed by the biggest designers on planet fashion for well over a decade, playing muse to many and having more than a few opportunities to really bring out the big guns. The Oscars, Cannes, fashion week, countless movie premieres, numerous cover shoots… You name it, Miller's had a fabulous dress for each and every moment of her career.

Over the past few months, we have also been truly in awe of her casual attire too, with the actress looking effortlessly cool in NYC on school runs in her low-key designer garments—many of which have been worn on repeat and in various combinations. Turns out she's just as keen on shopping from her own closet when it comes to night-out outfits: For a Christmas get-together with Brit legend Noel Gallagher, Miller dug into her own archive and pulled out a glitzy little gold number that we noticed as being rather familiar.

We recognized the small gold sequins rendered into an ultra-short shift dress, complete with a neat empire-line bow: 'Twas her Burberry mini from the 2006 Anglomania Met Gala, designed by Christopher Bailey and first worn with black tights, patent Mary Janes, and—as was de rigueur at the time—with her hair up with two long strands falling down at the front, as well as a small shoulder bag. For 2018 (and a far colder night in London), Miller switched things up a little. Keep scrolling to see how the fashion icon has worn her trusty party dress 12 years apart and to shop a similar look for yourself.

How Miller wore her gold Burberry dress at the 2006 Met Gala…

While others were in sweeping gowns, Miller made an about-turn against her boho look from a few years earlier and went down a '60s route for her Met Gala look.

The statement earrings, black eyeliner, hairdo, opaques, patent Mary Janes, and teeny-tiny shoulder bag are 2006 wrapped up with a (velvet) bow.

…and how she switched it up for 2018

Giving this little dress a winter makeover, Miller threw on a classic black double-breasted coat and changed her accessories game. A green satin mini bag and black platform sandals gave the dress a quirky Britishness.

The fashion icon certainly proved that a decent party frock is worth investing in, and we look forward to seeing how Miller wears this again in the future. Until then, shop her look for yourself below.
