No Patience Here: 9 Spring Runway Looks I'm Trying ASAP
Today marks the final day of fashion month, and although we've only just begun to sit down and digest everything we just saw for the spring/summer 2024 season, I'm already racing ahead to try out the standout looks I saw on the runways. Patience has never been my virtue, and all month, I've been collecting screenshots of all the cool styling ideas I've spotted.
I've seen plenty of looks throughout this season's shows that have left me more inspired than ever to rethink the clothes already hanging in my closet and maybe make a few purchases while I'm at it. While there are a number of broader trends happening, I'm pinpointing the specific spring 2024 runway looks that, to me, are the ultimate source of cool style.
From the 3.1 Phillip Lim way to wear capri pants to the rising micro-shorts trend that Bally and more are pioneering and the workwear jackets that Prada is ushering in, continue on to discover the nine spring 2024 runway looks I'll be re-creating ASAP and shop pieces to do so yourself.
Fashion loves a "good opposites" attract moment, and nothing said "high low" quite like this Gucci ensemble combining a slick patent-leather midi skirt with a plain gray zip-up. I love the low-key vibe the sweatshirt brings to an otherwise corporate-coded outfit, and I'll be trying out the combination at my earliest convenience.

Crisp and clean is how I'd describe this superb Jil Sander look. As soon as I saw it, I was mentally scanning my own closet for a similar column skirt I could pull out to accomplish the same effect.

Hot pants are already proving to be a major spring trend, as I spotted them all over the place this fashion month. One styling idea that makes the tiny shorts seem approachable came from Max Mara, who balanced their nonexistent hemline with a floor-sweeping coat and crisp poplin shirt. If I ever do decide to test out the rising trend, it will surely be via something as chic as this.

Thanks to Miuccia Prada, searches for Carhartt workwear jackets were way up this month. On its S/S 24 runway, Prada sent out a number of utilitarian jackets that were paired with delicate sheer and fringed midi skirts and point-toe pumps that offset their workwear feel. I'm always drawn to any combination of high and low, and Prada's duality really spoke to me.
Shop the look:
Not to brag, but I was ahead of the capri-pant trend that's coming for spring. I wore a pair to the Sandy Liang show during New York Fashion Week with mules and a statement top. Once I saw a similar outfit from 3.1 Phillip Lim, I knew the combination was one to keep iterating on throughout the fall.
Shop the look:
Relatively simplistic, this Ferragamo look ended up on my mood board straight away. I love the way a reworked trench coat can become an entire outfit, and with a pair of sleek sock boots gliding out from underneath, it's a silhouette I'll be aiming to re-create immediately.
Shop the look:
At Stella McCartney, low-rise baggy jeans got an elevated spin when paired with a tuxedo shirt and cumberbund. As a denim loyalist myself, I'm always trying to find fresh ways to style my jeans and promptly saved this savvy combo for inspiration.
Shop the look:
Red is everywhere I look this season, and Givenchy just gave me my new favorite way to wear it—a pop of cherry underneath a long skirt or trousers via a pair of red tights or socks and strappy heels in the same hue.
Shop the look:
I appreciate when runway looks are so realistic that I could copy and paste them right into my life. Such is the case with this one from Bally, in which key prep-school-inspired accessories like a baseball cap, loafers, and duffel lend a little lift to a classic fall outfit base.
