I've Always Worked in Fashion and Bet These Shoe Trends Will Rule Spring 2020

I’ve been working as a fashion editor and a writer for over 10 years now. While my various roles have encompassed a range of tasks, the overarching theme of my career has been to keep a pulse on what matters in fashion—whether that’s scouting the market to uncover shopping gems or researching Wholesale Replica Bag trends.

Given that trend-forecasting is more or less the name of my game, I like to think I can predict which specific trends will take off each season. In regards to footwear, I think there are actually five shoe trends that will rule spring 2020 based on strong runway presence and popularity amongst the street style scene.

To dive into the matter a bit further, I’m showcasing the key shoe styles I think are worth investing in this season with visual and shopping inspiration. Keep scrolling to build the ideal spring shoe closet, according to me. So go on—I know there’s something for every style with what’s coming ahead…

1. T-Strap Sandals

In the sandals realm, it’s the minimal T-strap styles that will reign supreme amongst the fashion crowd.

While just about any shoe style would work with this elevated leather fit, the T-strap sandals feel elegant and cool.

Classic Mary Janes are entering the spotlight again as one of the most elegant shoe styles to add polish and sophistication to a look.

3. Flatforms

Designers are taking shoe silhouettes to new heights for spring with flatforms hitting hard, playing with texture and color in modern designs.

4. Heeled Loafers

As I highlighted recently, loafers are getting taken to new heights with the addition of bold block heels. This trend is a win-win in my opinion because it’s equal parts comfy and chic.

5. Functional Sandals

"Ugly” sandals aren’t going anywhere this season. In fact, I think more and more people will step out in the two-strap clunksters (with or without socks).

3.1 Phillip Lim’s chunky sandals are quite cool with the bold hardware.

A pair of functional sandals feel quite unexpected (in a good way) with a suiting ensemble. Note that these would also look fresh with socks as well.
