We may be fashion experts here at WWW, but even on our best days, we could all use the help of a personal stylist. Take me, for example: a girl in desperate need of some tips and tricks for reworking my wardrobe to create fresh new outfits. And then there's our very own senior market editor, Judith Jones, who's a busy mom of two and always on the lookout for ways to wear the season's latest trends. No matter our styling needs, Stitch Fix is our favorite way to work with a team of experts to revamp our wardrobes. It's as simple as completing a quick online style quiz (let's be honest: that's really all we have time for), and then the Stitch Fix stylists get to work selecting your perfect pieces.
Judith recently teamed up with Stitch Fix stylist Amberly Reese to put together three outfits that perfectly encompass the trends Stitch Fix predicted in its 2023 Style Forecast, which was informed by billions of data points from millions of clients, and key insights from thousands of expert stylists. Based on Judith's style quiz, Reese believed that she'd like the Beachcomber, Prep School, and Proportion Play trends. She then sent Judith pieces for each trend, and Judith was able to choose her favorite pieces based on fit and her sartorial taste to create three looks. Keep scrolling to check out her favorite summer aesthetics and the best styling tips for how to achieve them.
As someone who lives just a few close blocks from the beach (and who claims she's a coastal grandmother at heart), Judith is always looking for comfortable, flowy, and relaxed pieces that are chic enough to wear to a meeting in the neighborhood. In this case, Reese gave Judith this breezy, tan shirt. "It's the perfect neutral staple to pair with all of your favorites this summer," says the stylist, who swears by easy button-downs. "For an updated twist on the classic button-down and jeans, wear the top with your go-to wide-leg denim, and reach for the coordinating sandals and bag to complete the ensemble."
When it comes to dressing for the office, Judith likes to lean in to a preppy aesthetic. "The look I was sent was probably one of my favorites," she says. "The chic sleeveless polo top was gorgeous and exactly the type of piece I feel confident in and absolutely love to wear. I had never worn A.L.C. before, so it was great to be able to try that brand—and I'm now a big fan." Reese agrees: "You can never go wrong with leaning into polished separates like blazers, button-downs, and skirts! The great thing about these pieces is that they allow you to dial up or down the prep depending on what you pair them with."
Stitch Fix's data-driven insights confirm that wide-leg jeans are here to stay. "We continue to embrace oversize, voluminous silhouettes, and as hemlines drop, we expect styles like midi dresses and relaxed pants worn with fitted tops to be on the rise this year," Reese shares. Her selection was just what Judith was in the market for. "I'm loving relaxed wide-leg jeans right now," Judith says. "And this pair looked so good teamed with the chic black bodysuit and sleeveless blazer."
