Although the quiet-luxury movement may seem like the only thing anyone is talking about, let's be totally real: Sometimes, wearing something that's incredibly current feels necessary. While I'm the first to admit that my closet is filled with timeless basics like linen vests and straight-leg denim, I can't say no to micro-trends that suddenly pop up everywhere on my social media feed—mesh flats, cargos, and retro sneakers included.

Now that summer is in full swing and I'm itching to add more fun to my wardrobe, I don't feel like buying an entirely new outfit to add these seven micro-trends into my rotation. Thankfully, my latest hyperfixations feel totally timeless with classic denim jeans without breaking the mold too much. Below, shop the internet's favorite micro-trends that pair so well with jeans, from of-the-moment colors to pretty footwear.

Colored Sneakers

There's no denying the impact of colored retro sneakers as of late. Opt for a bright hue to wear on your feet with light-wash denim.

Cargo Jeans

Okay, this micro-trend already pairs well with jeans. Overly baggy cargo jeans have been on nearly every single It girl this summer, and although the trend feels extremely current, the low-slung style is a fan favorite. Just opt for a formfitting white linen top or blouse to draw attention to the pant party happening on your lower half.

Statement Swimsuits

Statement swimsuits have been the go-to beachside uniform for weeks now, and when paired with classic boyfriend jeans, you're practically ready for the South of France.

Butter Yellow

This just in: Fashion people can't stop wearing butter yellow. The celeb-approved hue, especially when paired with classic high-rise denim, feels especially adorable.

Mesh Flats

To know me is to know I've been pining over a fresh pair of mesh flats for quite some time now. This sudden trend popped up out of nowhere and, frankly, has lived in my mind rent-free. However, when paired with white denim or a timeless light-wash straight-leg style, they feel a bit more delicate and timeless.

Elevated Tube Tops

After seeing elevated tube tops everywhere this summer, I haven't been able to get the style out of my head. From slim-fitting styles to peplum flares, this micro-trend pairs so well with your jeans that you're saving for colder weather.

Chartreuse Green

Although "slime green" and "elevated" don't exactly go together in your mind, the bright hue feels incredibly chic when styled right. Opting for a dark-wash denim style accented with chartreuse accessories feels straight out of the It-girl playbook.
