The 6 Color Trends You'll Be Seeing Everywhere This Summer
From any attempts at online shopping recently, you've probably already noticed that this summer is going to be all about playing with color. Even if you're a neutrals girl through and through, it's still fun to add a subtle pop of color here and there. It doesn't have to be loud, either. There are plenty of "subtle" hues in the roundup below.
Although you can play around with any color you choose, looking at what's on the runways can often inspire you to try out different shades you wouldn't have pictured on yourself before. Luckily for you, I looked through the runways and picked out five standout colors that popped up quite frequently and found some pieces on the market to match, from summer dresses to statement handbags. Whether you're willing to try out a new color or simply want to wear them all, keep scrolling to see the hues I'm already seeing everywhere.
While we've had plenty of specific greens trend hard in the past—from celery to sage—there are no limits this time. Any shade of green works. Feel free to even mix different hues together.
Mauve meets the perfect middle ground between lavender and a darker purple, which is probably why it's so easy to style and work with. The medium-purple hue is a perfect summer shade—just take a look at the crochet bag and bikini below.
Yellow hasn't popped up nearly much as it should have in the past few years, but I'm happy it's getting the attention it deserves. I love a good pale yellow, but a brighter lemon yellow will have to be something I try out this season. It just reminds you of sunshine, so why not?
I was surprised to see minty-fresh hues on the runway because I forgot about the blue-green shade and how good it looks. It pairs well with white and other shades of blue.
While the cerulean you saw on The Devil Wear's Prada was a bit darker, Pantone's cerulean is a calming, tranquil blue. It makes me feel however it's described because it truly is a serene shade of blue.
You'll love buttercream whether you love neutrals or don't. It has the tiniest touch of yellow mixed in, making it the perfect tone if you want to break out of wearing black and white with a subtle touch of color.
