Brit Girls Always Go to This One Store for Investment Coats

Looking for that hero winter coat can be a bit of an epic process, especially when you need it to last multiple years—no one want to invest in an item of clothing only for it to seem outdated within 12 months. In addition, the sheer volume of options can be overwhelming to say the least. Good quality, flattering fit, versatile cuts, easy to layer and just the right amount of trend-led detail… it's easier said than done.

So when we come across a brand that ticks our complex criteria, you know we're going to shout about it. Many of our fashion friends rave about the outerwear offering at Ted Baker, swearing by their well-made crombies, wraps and faux fur pieces, and our further investigation makes it conclusive. From cool camel coats and colourful weaves to printed furry jackets and slimming belted silhouettes, there was so much to choose from. We were particularly into one of their bestsellers—the Sandra coat—which is perfect for recreating this season's head-to-toe tonal trend but will last and last for many winters to come.

With a little bit of help fromBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing 's Acting Assistant Editor Joy Montgomery and Associate Social Media Editor Isabel Mundigo-Moore, we decided to create an edit of the coats that topped our list…

Style Notes: This season I've been on the hunt for the perfect layering coat and Ted Baker's Sandra coat fits the bill nicely. Coming in a classic camel hue, it offers an unfussy, tailored silhouette and handy waist belt. I'll be wearing mine with tonal separates this season.

Isabel's Not-Black Coat:

Style Notes: I would say that 80% of my wardrobe is made up of neutral colours, so I was surprised to find myself drawn towards this green coat—it's so easy to opt for black when the weather turns. In a deep shade of forest green, it worked surprisingly well with my daytime casual look: Straight leg jeans, black polo and loafers.

Joy's Pink Statement Piece:

Style Notes: I love a good statement coat, however the downside is that they can sometimes date quickly. The great thing about this pink double-breasted style is that it'll add a good dose of personality to any outfit, but multiple winters of pink coats being fashionable proves the trend has staying power. This is my go-to for livening up a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

Isabel's Faux Fur Outfit Elevator:

Style Notes: There's so much to love about this kooky piece: From the cropped fit to the retro floral print, it added just the right amount of texture and pattern to my otherwise simple look. I could also imagine wearing this over a midi dress or '70s style jumpsuit.
