From London to Rome—This Pretty Skirt Trend Is Going to Be All Over Europe This Summer

As someone who grew up in the '00s, it gives me great delight to report on the boho trend resurgence. Between Sienna Miller's more frequent outings, and Chloe's wardrobe-altering runway show in February of this year, the pretty, feminine and naturally carefree aesthetic has been quietly working its way back up to its former glory this season, and it's brought a plethora of playful trends in tandem.

Whilst I'm eager to invest in a pair of clogs, and raring to exchange cash for a chain belt, it's the tired skirt trend that's shot to the top of my wish list this summer.

Flowing and feminine, with a whimsical edge, the pretty skirt trend has already been adopted by Europeans across the continent. Typically composed of light cottons and breathable linens, the skirt retains the airy quality needed to see you through a sweltering summer.

If you step outside in Italy or Spain you're likely to spot the skirt trend styled with similarly lightweight items, such as casual tees and raffia bags. If you head to London, you're far more likely to spot it worn with a chunky knit or sporty jacket, as we get a head start on the warm-weather trend.

Having dug into the trend in recent weeks, it's clear that white and light cream styles are dominating fashion circles—which isn't surprising in itself seeing as the white skirt trend is one of the biggest of the season. However, the high street is already brimming with colourful styles for those who prefer a more playful approach.

From H&M's bright white style to Mango's floor skimming sage green skirt, there are so many styles fighting for my attention right now.
