We're Halfway Through the Summer, and I'm Still Buying Into These Trends
When it comes to buying clothes for the season, there are the early birds and the procrastinators. The early crowd already has their seasonal staples weeks before it actually begins, meanwhile procrastinators like to shop in the midst of the season. There are pros and cons to pledging to either side, but if you happen to fall into the latter camp, you'll want to pay close attention.
If you haven't planned properly for the summer, there's no reason to throw in the towel yet. So many sales are kicking off right now that it's actually beneficial to be late to the party. And if you're worried that you can't properly wear them with only a few months of summer left, my advice is to stick with the most practical trends to ensure a high cost per wear. Halfway through the summer, I'm still banking big on some trends that I'd argue are worth the buy. To view the complete list of the top trends I'd consider smart investments, keep scrolling.
Maxi Skirts
The modest cousin of the miniskirt is still on the rise, and it hasn't even reached its apex. With that said, it's a smart staple because of its versatility and because it will transition easily into colder temperatures.
Shop the trend:
Whimsical White Tanks
White tanks with a twist are everywhere these days, and it makes perfect sense—they're exceptionally easy to style. Even though it's a big trend right now, it will always be "in" for seasons to come.
Shop the trend:
Colorful Matching Sets
Matching sets are practically all I wear right now, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They make for such easy outfits that are guaranteed to look amazing every time. Plus, you can whip them out for any vacation.
Shop the trend:
Corsets
I always pull out a corset top when I want to look fancy, and the allure of the piece also has a hold on the fashion crowd. The corset has serious staying power, so even if you don't wear it a lot this season, you definitely will the next.
Shop the trend:
Tailored Trousers
Tailored trousers aren't strictly for the summer by any means, but they're having a bit of a moment by fashion standards. Since they're a year-round staple, it's wise to stock up on them now.
