I Know You’re a Fashion Person If You’re Wearing One of These Pairs of On-Trend Trainers

Ava Gilchrist
As a self-confessed comfort dresser and fashion person, there's one dead give away that tells me whether someone shares my style philosophy - wearing trainers that are in fashion.
I gave in to the pull of trainers a long time ago. Nowadays, you’ll find me sporting my scuffed-up cream Converse Chuck 70s on a near-daily basis. I can happily wear these trusty soles all day long without them pinching my feet, but that’s not the only reason I love them. They also go with the majority of my wardrobe, infusing all my outfits with an ‘I just threw it on’ attitude.

While they have left their mark in my closet, I’m determined to branch out from my well-worn Converse and try out some new trending trainer styles. And to make the task simpler, some key designs have emerged over the past couple of months that the fashion world has fallen head over heels for. While runway shows help us to see which trends will be popular in the future, if you keep up with Replica Handbags or spend your evenings scrolling Instagram, you'll easily be able to detect the top trainers that are in fashion now.
Presuming there are others like me who are seeking box-fresh to see them through 2025 (and beyond), I’ve rounded up all the trainers that are in fashion, ahead.
From Adidas’ retro-style runners to Gola’s colourful kicks, tonal colour palettes to suede textures, read on to see and shop the trainers that are in fashion now.
The 6 Trainer Styles That Are in Fashion, Now and Forever:
1. Brown Trainers
Style Notes: From Miu Miu's sold-out collaboration with New Balance to Dries Van Noten's lust-worthy tennis shoes, suede trainers have taken over, and namely in brown tones. Designers may have led the charge, but there are so many expensive-looking high-street options. While some may opt for tan tones, deep chocolate, and mocha hues are equally as popular.

2. Puma Speedcat Trainers
Style Notes: Suede trainers is a trend Puma tapped into early with the release of their now cult-status Speedcats. From the pink pair worn by Emily Ratajkowski to the classic red shade adored by Jennifer Lawrence, these motorcross inspired shoes are heating up.

3. Asics Gel Trainers
Style Notes: If you’re looking for a starter sneaker, this is it. The chunky design is the perfect mix of sporty and sleek, especially if you opt for the multi-colour versions. I know so many people who own these, and not one of them has a bad word to say.
Shop Asics Trainers:
4. Gola Trainers
Style Notes: It's giving nostalgic. Gola's sneakers are functional and stylish, featuring versatile hues and comfy soles. The hard part is deciding which style and colour combination to go for…

5. Colourful Adidas Trainers
Style Notes: I know Adidas sneakers are having a moment, and have been for well over a year now. But vibrant iterations in particular are shaping up to be one of 2025's dominant trainer trends. If fashion people had to come together and save just one sneaker style, I’d place my money on it being either the Samba or Gazelle - both of which are refreshingly affordable at just under £100.
Shop Adidas Trainers:
These electric blue trainers look so good with light and dark wash denim jeans.
If the Replica Handbags set and 2025 Oscars red carpet taught me anything, it's that powder pink is the colour worth investing in.
6. Onitsuka Tiger Trainers
Style Notes: It seems like retro-style runners are gaining momentum rather than losing it to ultra-modern styles. Onitsuka Tiger hits the mark with its nostalgic Mexico trainer, an easy shape available in bold and toned-down colourways.
Shop Onitsuka Tiger Trainers:
Pair these with a midi dress and cardigan as it gets warmer, or a pair of wide leg jeans for a really retro look.
Understated yet cool, the style is ideal for those hooked on the butter yellow trend.
