I Just Found Out Which Bridesmaid Dresses Are Trending This Season

There's nothing more fascinating than getting inside intel into the nation's shopping habits, especially when it's wedding-related. Deciding what to dress your bridesmaids in is, for any bride-to-be, a tricky decision. Obviously there are plenty of options out there, but finding looks that will complement your dress, flatter all figures and match the general tone of the wedding is easier said than done. So it seemed only natural that we draw on all our sources to find out which bridesmaid dresses are actually being bought by brides right now.

Fashion PR Amber Malkin's bridesmaids wore dresses by Nanushka.

I contacted everyone from John Lewis to ASOS to find out which dresses are selling the best on their sites. The results are in, and trust me, you're going to want to see them. Overall, the colour palette was unsurprising: Think soft pastels, such as pink and sage green. There's also a surfeit of silken fabrics and figure-skimming silhouettes: Just look at Nanushka's slinky Kalila dress, the fashion influencer's current go-to.

There are also a few curveballs in there, including a tailored jumpsuit (perfect for those who want to break free from traditional dress styles) and a colour-match co-ord, which offers a modern spin on the classic midi. My personal fave is Oasis's (yes, really) off-the-shoulder Amy dress, which recalls the elegant simplicity of brands 10 times the price. Intrigued? Needle and Thread

"The Andromeda styles are Needle Thread's best-selling styles for bridesmaid every season, due to the attainable price point and detailing," explains a fashion PR for the brand. "We update the colours, which always sell out every season. Sugar pink is proving particularly popular."

ASOS

Our ASOS sources reveal that the below dresses are constantly selling out on their site. With their flattering colourways and soft flowing fabric, we're not surprised that brides can't get enough of them.

John Lewis

"Oasis created their first bridesmaid range this season, and it has been a great success, with the Pale Grey as the best selling colourway," reveals a John Lewis insider. "Jumpsuits are now also included in our bridesmaid category as a popular alternative for those who do not want to wear dresses."

Les Héroïnes

Les Héroïnes is the occasion-wear brand that has sought to shake-up the world of traditional bridesmaids dresses. Its sleek jumpsuits and cool co-ords are beloved by fashion brides everywhere. Scroll down to see the brand's best-selling pieces.

Nanushka

We couldn't not include Nanushka in our bridesmaid dress roundup, as its silken midi dresses have become catnip for fashion-blogger bridesmaids. We loved Alyssa Coscarelli's dove-grey Kalila dress, which she wore for her best friend's wedding. Scroll down to shop similar styles.
