5 Winter Accessory Trends I'm Low-Key Buying on the Cheap
When you're bundled up in a zillion layers in the winter, all the pressure is put on your accessories to make your outfit really shine. They bring out the "extra" side in everyone—after all, what's the best way to jazz up an outfit than with some fun accouterments? And this season especially, the hats, jewelry, and more on offer are about as extra as they come. Throw on a fuzzy bucket hat for your daily social-distancing walk or a funky beaded to your simplest sweater-and-jeans look.
Whatever vibe you're on these days, add in one (or multiple) of the below hats, earrings, socks, and hair accessories to your cold-weather outfit rotation and witness the magic of compliments, inquiries, and double-taps rolling in. Without further ado, scroll on to discover five trendy winter accessories that I found for cheap (I'm talking under-$45 cheap).
1. Beaded Jewelry
Who remembers those arts and crafts projects we used to do in grade school? Well, this fun-loving jewelry trend is bringing me right back to my summer camp days of doing DIY projects, only these pieces are much better-designed. With quirky beads and bright color combinations, this trend is sure to break through the winter blues without breaking any budgets.
2. Fuzzy Bucket Hats
If you describe your style as "extra", this one's for you. Instead of the plain bucket hats of seasons past, it's all about these textured faux fur toppers that are as cozy (and cool) as they come.
3. Knee-High Socks
The prep-school aesthetic that has been overwhelmingly popular this year (think pleated mini skirts and sweater vests) is giving us yet another reason to embrace the academic vibe: knee-high socks. Whether you show them off with a pair of loafers or wear them as a layer underneath knee-high boots, this one's an easy and super-affordable addition.
4. Resin Hair Claws
Hair claws used to be just another item to peruse in the drugstore aisle but now that there's an explosion of pretty resin versions in an array of colors and patterns, they've become just as trendy to sport as they are easy to wear, making bad hair days a thing of the past.
5. Deco Belts
Statement belts haven't been as popular in the past few seasons, but I'm sensing a return to artful deco belts like the vintage-inspired chains below or the mixed media Bottega Veneta above. Despite the designer versions, though, plenty of cheaper buys offer the same look and are perfect for layering over coats and sweaters this winter.
