The Affordable Street Style Trend That Dominated NYFW

As I write this on what is actually the last day of New York Fashion Week, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’m still trying to wrap my head around all the trends I saw both on and off the runways. As always, however, there were some that were so prevalent, it was clear early on that they were not just ubiquitous but important.

One such trend was the nod to utility-inspired colors and details that I spotted on more street style stars and showgoers than I could count. From belted blazers, skirts, and pants to all sorts of items in creams, khaki, and all other neutrals, the inspiration was endless. Luckily, when it comes to shopping, so are the options. Thanks to our very own Who What Wear collection, you can actually shop a handful of pieces that not only come in a range of sizes but are all available for less than a cool $50. To see the looks that inspired me for yourself and, of course, do some shopping along the way, just keep scrolling.

Tackle two trends in one by opting for a belted leather (or faux-leather) blazer.

The utility-inspired jumpsuit will always have its place in the fashion world.

You can never go wrong with an all-neutral look—especially when you stick to a light color pallette.

Always remember that gold and black leather are a perfect pairing.

Tuck your oversized button-downs into a belted trouser for a more flattering fit.

What a difference a belted waist makes!

A pop of animal print through accessories never hurts.

Don't be afraid to take a chance when it comes to combining different colors—oftentimes it really pays off.

A pair of of-the-moment knee boots will go with any winter outfit you can think of.

Contrast utility-inspired details, such as surplus colors and belts, with a fancy-feeling faux-fur coat.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here atBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing , and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
