This Instagram It Girl Has the Best Advice on Maternity Dressing
It's been a busy year for German blogger and Instagram It girl Veronika Heilbrunner. Not only was she named our Street Style Star of the Year for 2017, but in late January, she and her longtime partner, Justin O'Shea, announced via Instagram that they were expecting. Now, Heilbrunner is nearing the end of her pregnancy (and accompanying maternity style), and she has some wise words to share about the art of dressing your baby bump.
In a recent interview with Vogue, Heilbrunner explained that finding her pregnancy style was no easy feat. "I don't even open my closet anymore. I have a rack that hangs my six looks," she told the publication. She then goes on to share seven honest and wise tidbits about mastering maternity dressing, and these were some of our favorites.
Heilbrunner says that a bigger bag can actually balance out your baby bump. "I was always into no bags or really small cute bags, and I realized it's better when you are pregnant and getting really big, it is better to wear a bigger bag because of the proportions," she told Vogue.
Other insights include that flat and chunky shoes work best to "even the silhouette," and rather than covering up your bump with oversize pieces, test out body-con dresses that adjust to your body's shape. Brilliant! Now, read on to see some of our favorite Instagrams below that highlight her exceptional maternity style, and then head to Vogue for the complete interview.
