I'm a big fan of Victoria Beckham. I've loved her style for years, and as a beauty editor, I use her Victoria Beckham Beauty makeup products daily. So, when she launched her first collection of perfumes in 2023, you can imagine how excited I was to get my hands on one. In fact, I practically screamed at the postman when the package arrived at my door.
If you didn't know, VB's collection now boasts four luxury fragrances, and they look just as chic as you'd imagine. All of the scents are inspired by memories from different stages of her life, and each perfume has been designed to capture a specific time, place or experience.
First up, can we take a moment for the packaging? The perfumes arrive in white boxes with Victoria Beckham's signature branding on the front, and the bottles themselves are a work of art. I'm not lying when I say that I've had mine proudly on display in my bathroom ever since I received it.
I know we can all be a little sceptical when a celebrity brings out a new beauty product, but these perfumes have surprised me in so many ways. As with most luxury fragrances, they don't come cheap, and a 50ml bottle will set you back a cool £170. Victoria Beckham Beauty Portofino '97
Key notes: Bergamot, black pepper, incense, amber, vetiver, patchouli
Best for: Daytime wear, romantic escapes, summer
First impressions: A bright, citrusy opening gives way to smoky incense and amber. Elegant and airy, yet with depth.
Smells like: A sun-soaked Italian coastline: sophisticated, relaxed, slightly smoky.
If it were an outfit: A white linen shirt thrown over a bikini.
If it were a makeup product: A soft, creamy bronzer.
If it were a bag: A Loewe raffia basket bag.
Editor's verdict: "The bergamot was the note that first caught my attention—it opens with a very fresh, citrusy scent, then the black pepper really adds to that spicy element. It dries down to amber, patchouli and vetiver, and has a very sensual, warm, woody base. Top notes: Passionfruit, saffron, rose absolute, jasmine, oud, black amber, vanilla
Best for: Spring and summer evenings, city breaks
First impressions: Bright and fruity, then soft florals, finishing on warm woods and amber. Both uplifting and comforting.
If it were an outfit: A flowing white summer dress paired with oversized sunglasses.

Editor's verdict: "This is more of an evening scent; it's rich, decadent and expensive. For me, it gives major summer date night vibes, and it totally makes sense that this is inspired by the Beckhams' time spent in Los Angeles. I'm not always a fan of oud scents, but I was really pleasantly surprised by this one. The oud isn't too overpowering, so the fruity and floral notes really stand out and make an impact. Best for: Evening wear, date nights
First impressions: Rich and seductive, it initially presents as fruity and spicy, deepened by smoky leather.
Smells like: Velvet-draped Parisian suites and red wine by candlelight.
If it were an outfit: A black velvet tuxedo jacket over a silk slip dress.
If it were a makeup product: A deep, wine-coloured lipstick.

Editor's verdict: "This scent was inspired by Victoria and David's trips to Paris, and is certainly the most classically 'romantic' of the four perfumes, thanks to the floral heart notes. It's at first quite bold and sexy, but over time it settles into something more sweet and intimate, which I really enjoy. It feels like the fragrance has its own lifespan throughout the day." — Day

First impressions: Smoky tobacco opens, followed by a plush fruity tone of plum and a finish of woody, creamy vanilla.
Smells like: An intimate, candlelit gathering.
