Victoria Beckham Confirms the Trend You Love Now Will Be Just as Cool Next Year
It came as no surprise that Victoria Beckham debuted a new looser silhouette at her show during New York Fashion Week yesterday, as the designer had been stepping out in an array of boyfriend-fit trousers and shirts while finalising the last details of her S/S 17 collection.
The British designer, who had Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour on the front row, once again proved her fashion chops with a gorgeous collection. While we oohed and aahed over the delicate floral prints, the pleated skirts, and the fitted bralettes, the real star of the show was velvet. We've spoken before about our love for this trend, which we know is going to be everywhere this season, but we're more than happy to see that VB is leading the charge into the season after that.
In order to move away from the wintry feel of velvet, Beckham decided to showcase her velvet in orange, turquoise, and cream. Speaking about the new collection, she revealed to British Vogue that this season is the one she really feels like she's "come into [her] own."
And if you were in any doubt that this is how VB wants to dress herself, she revealed that this is definitely a sign of things to come, not just for her label but for her own personal style too. "This is how I want to dress now," she revealed. "It's looser, much more effortless, more comfortable. I wanted the clothes to look like they'd just been thrown on."
