I may be a fashion editor, but I'm not here to purchase dozens of new trends every season. I'm extremely selective about what I invest in, and this fall, anything cherry red and moto-inspired will be coming home with me. These are two trends we've seen on the runways and now get to wear ourselves thanks to some really cool Free People finds. Its We the Free collection is all about twists on the classics. Take, for example, the brand's staple fall boot, which has a trendy moto spin, or its classic leather jacket, which comes in the season's hottest color. Once editor Aniyah Morinia and I saw these pieces drop online, we knew we had to get our hands on them. If the following looks tell you anything, it's that we recommend investing in these trends for fall. Keep scrolling to shop our favorites from We the Free.

"Fall in NYC is truly unmatched. It's the perfect backdrop for testing trends and playing with my style. I went with a leather barrel jean as the star of this fall look. I've been seeing this style all over the city recently, and I love that these are a fresh take on your classic black leather pants. I paired them with these cropped moto-style boots that add a little bit of edge. The blue mini bag tied the whole look together, making it the perfect transitional pop as we move from summer to fall." — Aniyah Morinia, editor

"Easy, comfortable, and cool all describe this We the Free look. To really showcase the pop of red in the Clarkie Jacket, I stuck to my tried and true basics: a classic white tee and puddle jeans. To dress up the look, I had to reach for the Dusty Buckle Boots to play into that moto trend even further. If you're moto-curious but scared to dive in headfirst with a chunkier boot, I recommend this approachable pair. Styling tip: I sized up a half size in the boots for a comfortable fit that doesn't require breaking in." — Natalie Gray Herder, editor

"I've been gravitating toward looser silhouettes recently, and this outfit reflects that. These jeans are the perfect wide-leg fit with a nice light wash to really accentuate the red boots that peek out when I walk. Red is a major trend that we'll be seeing on anyone and everyone this season, so I tapped into it with these leather ankle boots. I kept the rest of my look pretty neutral to make sure that all eyes were on my shoes as I strutted through the busy city streets." — Morinia

"Prepare to be sick of seeing me in this second We the Free look because I don't plan on taking it off. The yellow moto jacket, baggy cuffed jeans, and another great pair of boots are all I want to wear this fall. Free People is always my go-to destination for cool finds, and this season, the retailer really blew me away. Hot tip: I sized down two sizes in the Final Countdown Mid-Rise Jeans." — Herder
