Just because something is a trend doesn't mean that it should be worn anywhere and at any time of day for as long as the lifespan of the trend lasts. Especially with the return of so many glamorous '80s-era trends and the "extra" direction that fashion has taken in 2018, there are plenty of current trends that are best worn after dark. That said, if you're a styling pro and can make said trends work at a 10 a.m. coffee meeting, then, by all means, go for it. If you don't trust yourself to pull off tinsel at 10 a.m., we're here to help.

We took a long, hard look at all of the biggest fall 2018 trends and concluded that seven of them, in particular, don't really live their best life before 6 p.m. And just for fun, we shopped out our favorite version of each trend, because you need cool things to wear at night, right? Keep scrolling to find out what the trends are and shop them for all of your evening wardrobe needs.

The Trend: Sheer

Celebrities can get away with wearing sheer pieces at all hours of the day and night, but for most of us, date night or friends' night is the safest occasion to wear them.
