Not Too Hot or Too Cold—8 Stylish Outfits That Will See You Through Early Autumn in London
The change of season is here! Scroll on to see eight outfits you can rely on when it gets to 15ºC in London.

According to the calendar, autumn is nearly here—and I couldn't be happier. This is my favourite season, mainly because of its variety. Some may despair over the British weather, but I love that autumn here involves ever-changing temperatures, oscillating between cooler days and surprising bursts of sunshine and blue skies. Just think of all the outfit opportunities! So with temperatures officially beginning to hit the low-to-mid teens, it's time to truly consider: what do you wear in 15-degree weather?
Fifteen degrees might seem cold to some, but it's actually a pretty nice temperature—still warm enough to walk around in a t-shirt and jeans, but cool enough to justify starting to pull out your light layers. Think the classic trench coat, an oversized blazer or an ultra-soft cardigan. In other words, it's the time for transitional basics to thrive, and the ideal season to examine the state of your wardrobe staples that make up the ultimate capsule wardrobe.
Scroll on to see eight impressive outfits that perfectly demonstrate what to wear in 15-degree weather, as well as everything you need to re-create them.
What to Wear in 15-Degree Weather:
1. Trench Coat + Black Jeans + Loafers
Style Notes: Trench coats are considered a year-round staple for most fashion types, but they loan themselves particularly well to middle-of-the-road temperatures, too. Often lightweight and resistant to unpredictable weather, they're the perfect addition to any autumn/winter capsule. Add jeans and loafers and you have literally the perfect autumn look.

2. Suede Jacket + Cream Trousers + Ballet Flats
Style Notes: The eternally popular flat shoe is absolutely sticking around for 2025 and beyond. I love how Anouk has paired hair ballet flats with white trousers and a suede coat for a fresh take.

3. Overshirt + Blue Jeans + Boat Shoes
Style Notes: If you've still not found your perfect pair of blue jeans, now is the time to take the plunge. Straight-legged are the most versatile, giving any outfit a classic look, whether paired with a slouchy knit or neat overshirt, as Abi has done above.

4. White Shirt + Maxi Skirt + Slingbacks
Style Notes: Understatedly elegant, the simple white shirt is able to elevate any look. While I'll always opt for an oversized version paired with jeans, I love how Dawn has styled hers with a column skirt to create a supremely sophisticated ensemble.

5. Flared Jeans + Blazer + Mary-Janes
Style Notes: At 15 degrees, it feels too soon to whip out the heavy-duty coat. Instead, look for blazers that you can layer over t-shirts, shirts or even dresses.

6. Straight-Leg Jeans + Cardigan + Ballet Flats
Style Notes: A moment for the over-performer—the cardigan. Ideal for the days when you're cold when you leave the house, but start to warm up as you pound the pavement. The cardigan is an all-rounder that goes with dresses, jeans, skirts, mini skirts, coats...I could go on. Personally I think it looks chicest when worn with classic jeans and ballet flats.

7. Slip Skirt + Suede Jacket + Knee-High Boots
Style Notes: Eager to whip out the boots? Opt for a knee-high style with a simple slip skirt and jacket for a failsafe look that can take you from work to drinks.

8. Black Midi Dress + Trainers + Tote Bag
Style Notes: There's a reason so many women own a black midi dress. Classic, versatile and always in fashion, it will work for all seasons and every occasion. For 15-degree weather at the weekend, simply wear a short-sleeved style with trainers and a tote. You can add a jacket or knit over your shoulders too, if you wish.
