We're Basically Planning to Live in These 6 Outfits Throughout March
Okay, we're officially confused about the weather. One second it's sub-zero with sleet, and the next it's balmy 15-degree sunshine. Seriously, Britain—make up your mind. But of course, this is the nature of spring, and every year, we manage to power through the meteorological mayhem and make it to the other side where summer awaits. It'll happen. We promise.
So when it comes to deciding what to wear this March, we're taking a tentative—but no less stylish—approach and offering up a slew of simple outfits that can easily be layered up or dressed down according to your needs. For example, Marina's spring-ready a-line skirt and shirt combination can be layered up with a trench coat when the cooler days creep in, or worn as is through summer too. For a smarter spin, we're looking to Stephanie's combination of tailoring that can be worn together for an elevated take, or separated for various outfit combinations.
The secret to their success? All these outfits feature pieces that can be brought out the moment summer hits, and that's what we call getting more bang for your buck. Scroll down to see our full edit of March-ready outfits.
1. Waistcoat + Tailored Trousers
Style Notes: Waistcoats have made a comeback over the past few seasons, especially during the warmer months. Style them out with colour-match trousers and gold jewellery.
Shop the look:
Wear this without anything underneath for a cool spin on the going-out top.
2. Suede Jacket + Straight-Leg Jeans + Clogs
Style Notes: Suede comes into its own in the springtime, as it presents a softer way to wear leather for the brighter months. I like how Monikh has doubled up on the suede textures with her jacket-and-Birkenstock combo.
Shop the look:
So many of our editors have their sights set on this jacket.
3. Shirt + Midi Skirt + Ballet Flats
Style Notes: The brilliance of Marina's look is that each piece is classic, but when combined it feels incredibly contemporary. Plus, the light linen shirt and skirt style are ideal for keeping cool on warmer days.
Shop the look:
Nothing says incoming sunshine light yellow linen.
I've spotted so many sleek outfits that include a studded belt.
4. Trench Coat + Jeans + Slingbacks
Style Notes: There's a reason why classics have earned their title, and its for the power of their simplicity. Sylvie proves that a timeless trench coat, blue jeans and an elevated slingback heel is all it takes to look put-together through the transitional period.
Shop the look:
Add a touch of elegance to any outfit with thee suede slingbacks.
5. Knit Dress + Sandals
Style Notes: Ease yourself into dress season with a knitted iteration, which will provide you with some extra warmth. When the weather’s playing ball, pair yours with summer-ready sandals.
Shop the look:
Aligne knows how temperamental the weather can be, so add or remove this matching knit cardigan as needed.
You can never be too prepared—snap up your new summer sandals now.
6. Denim Boilersuit + Jumper + Loafers
Style Notes: Fancy a change from dresses but still want a simple outfit solution? Look no further than the denim jumpsuit.
