I'm Attending Multiple Bridal Showers This Year and Saving These Pretty Outfits
While I've gotten pretty good at creating wedding guest looks, bridal showers leave me stumped. Despite typically being the most casual event leading up to the big day, it always has me staring blankly at my closet the morning of. I've already attended three bridal showers this season, and I'm not going to my next one unprepared. If you find yourself in the same boat when attending these events, you've come to the right place. I not only found five foolproof outfit formulas but also searched across the pages of the best retailers to shop out each look. Whatever your style, there's an option for you.
Ahead, you'll find a few bridal shower outfit ideas to wear, how to shop each look, and a little insight on the etiquette required for the intimate event.
The Etiquette
When choosing an outfit for the bridal shower, it's important not to pick anything that'll overshadow the bride in any way. Unless the bride has specified a dress code (you never know), the best bet is to opt for something romantic like a ruffled dress or floral two-piece set. Since the bride will most likely be wearing white, this is the time when colors and prints can shine.
Bridal Shower Outfit Ideas
When it comes to event dressing, I hate that one look often only gets a few wears. With a set, you can easily mix and match the pieces long after your wedding guest duties are over.
Shop colorful sets:
Maxi dresses are a popular choice, but if you're not a fan of that silhouette, consider a fitted short or midi sundress. Opt for one in a punchy hue like the one above, and you won't need much else to win best dressed.
Shop sundresses:
If you usually shy away from prints, a bridal shower is a perfect place to start. Most guests often resort to a floral print of some sort, so feel free to have fun with what you choose.
Shop printed sets:
Suiting has dominated the trend cycle, and if you're looking for something a little less conventional, this look would be it. To make it event-friendly, I'd play it up with high heels and romantic accessories.
Shop suit sets:
Silk is the material that just always works—you won't feel overdressed or underdressed in it. It's a solid base that you can accessorize depending on the time of day, theme, and setting.
