These Affordable Sneakers Were Just Named 2018's Shoe of the Year
As the end of the year nears, there's no time like the present to reflect on the winning fashion items of 2018, and when it comes to shoes, Footwear News is here to help us do just that. The publication just announced its 2018 Achievement Awards winners, and included in the mix is the highest honor of them all: Shoe of the Year, which goes to Fila Disruptor II. Of all the It shoes that came to be this year, it must be a great challenge to choose just one, but FN succeeded in choosing an affordable, trendy style that celebrities, fashion insiders, Instagrammers, and tons of other stylish folks embraced. Chunky dad sneakers have undoubtedly been the number one shoe trend throughout 2018, and Footwear News was wise to choose such an accessible, highly coveted pair. They're constantly selling out, after all.
Among the other winners are fellow sneaker brand Allbirds as Brand of the Year, the very glamorous Amina Muaddi as Launch of the Year, and UK-based fashion insider-favorite Tabitha Simmons as Designer of the Year. Keep scrolling to shop the shoe of the year in all its glory!
