Abercrombie Fitch Is in Its Comeback Era—7 Pieces I Tried On and Am Keeping
Welcome to The Great Try-On. We're gearing up for fall, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best fall pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our own personal "dressing rooms" so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for fall wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you'll wear over and over this season and beyond.
Growing up, I always wanted to shop at Abercrombie Fitch because it was the epitome of cool when I was in middle school. The fluorescently lit hallways were filled with the brand's ruffled floral miniskirts, logo hoodies, and cuffed skinny jeans. But thanks to the moody lighting and hut-like exteriors of the stores, my mom would always drag me right past it. Who knew that, I'd be walking straight into an Abercrombie Fitch store in 2023 that was well-lit, had minimal interior design, and was filled with racks of ultra-chic pieces that looked nothing like what I was eyeing at age 14? I'm 25 and shopping the brand for the first time, and although I can't speak for what the pieces were like years ago, I fully understand the hype right now.
Out of the pieces I had the pleasure of trying from Abercrombie's new arrivals, the ones below are what made the cut for my fall wardrobe. My wish list for the season contains a few picks that fell outside of my budget, but luckily for me, these Abercrombie picks offer expensive-looking silhouettes without the high price point of luxury. I posted one pair of trousers from this haul onto my story and was met with tons of DMs asking for details, so I'm giving you a heads up—these pieces will garner compliments. If I haven't convinced you enough to run to see all of Abercrombie's fall finds, maybe the pictures and reviews below will.
Abercrombie Fitch Vegan Leather 90s Straight Pant and Soft Matte Seamless Tee Bodysuit
My Review: I've had quite a few outfits featuring metallic jeans fill up my Pinterest boards lately, so I knew I had to give these silver jeans from Abercrombie a try. I wanted a roomier fit, so I did go up a size, as I noticed the jeans were slimmer on the leg in the e-commerce image. After a few misses with other silver jeans, this was my winning pair. Despite the shiny exterior, they were comfortable and easy to move around in. Also, I'm on the shorter side (5'3" and proud!) and didn't mind the tiny bit of extra length at the bottom, as I thought it further added to the relaxed look I was going for.
Now, let's move on to the bodysuit, which was a surprise pick for me because I never had an interest in them before. I thought they were containing and unflattering on me, but this one quickly changed my mind. It's soft, smooth, and extremely breathable.

Abercrombie Fitch High Rise Taper Pant
My Review: The item that led me to multiple DMs? It was none other than these pants. They've solidified a place as a wardrobe staple for me. Upon first try-on, I was immediately reminded of more expensive pairs I've tried in the past, which is always a plus. The pants also offer both a barrel fit and a tapered leg, something I see more in denim and not often in trousers. If the Citizens of Humanity barrel jeans had to go to the office, these trousers would be that. I've always been a puddle-pant girl, but I'll definitely be switching things up and bringing these out more often, as they offer more room to show off your shoe choice too.

Abercrombie Fitch Removable Scarf Double-Cloth Wool-Blend Jacket
My Review: Scarf-coats have been a top-trending item in outerwear these past few seasons, and Abercrombie has hopped on board. I'm usually not one for cropped coats, but since this coat has a boxier fit, I didn't mind the length at all. In fact, I found it more versatile for styling because I could still wear the coat while showing off the shape of my trousers. The scarf aspect took me a minute or two to figure out at first, but I like how there are a few different ways to wear it, and it's detachable if you want to forego it completely. Lastly, some wool blends can be itchy, but this felt soft and cozy. This is the kind of piece you buy as your It item for the season—the one that you just can't help but be excited about.

Abercrombie Fitch Essential Long-Sleeve Skimming Tee, Wedge Crew Sweater, and High Rise Taper Jean
My Review: I have tried and own a lot of jeans, so it takes a lot to truly impress me. As I'm someone who's 5'3", a lot of denim has to be hemmed and tailored. This pair, however, fit exactly how I wanted it to. It offered a relaxed fit without pooling at my ankle—perfect to show off the flats I bought for fall.
I threw the sweater over my shoulders for this look, but the knit was comfortable and warm enough to put on if I needed an extra layer. Under-$100 sweaters can be questionable with their fabric compositions, but I had no complaints on this one.

The fall 2023 runways were all about mesh skirts, so this is your way to get a designer look for less.
Is my sweater collection overflowing? Yes. Do I still need this one in my life? Also yes.
I'm usually not a big fan of half-sleeve sweaters, but I'm very much into this one.
If you still haven't bought a denim skirt but have it high on your wish list, consider this one for purchase.
If you have any fall weddings or events coming up, Abercrombie has got you covered. The black is classic, but I'm also enamored with the olive-green version.
This blazer layered over the top above? It would be a 10/10 outfit.
Remember when I said I don't often wear cropped jackets? That's changing now.
Matching sets for fall don't only have to be knits.
If you want to really bring on the drama, wear a layered pearl necklace on top.
