5 Mega-Chic (and Affordable) Outfit Ideas I'm Copying for Fall
Sponsor Content Created With Walmart
Even though I'm a fashion editor, sometimes I still need a little help coming up with new outfit ideas. It's true: my screen time is increasing significantly as the new season rolls in, and this warm-weather-loving girl is struggling with how to dress for the changing temperatures. Right now, my feed is popping off with fall fashion inspiration. A rotation of fashion people with impeccable style has made its way into my "saved" folder, so I decided to reach out to a few of these people to get even more insight into just how they're styling their looks for the days ahead.
While each person gave me totally unique outfits, many of their fall must-haves were similar. Booties reigned supreme, and jackets (be they moto jackets or shackets) were non-negotiable. Keep scrolling to see the ultra-chic, on-trend, and affordable pieces from Walmart they're wearing this season, their must-have fall pieces, and the trends they're looking forward to the most.

For this particular outfit, I went for a relaxed look with this lightweight plaid dress, but I wanted to make it a bit more trendy by adding the lace-up boots that instantly elevate the look. On a chillier day, I would add an oversize peacoat, a scarf, and a bulkier bag.
What is one fall piece you can't live without?
A great pair of comfortable boots. I do a lot of walking around the city in the fall, so comfy boots are a must for me.
Which fall trend are you most excited about?
I'm super excited about the saturated-shade trend and the slouchy-jeans trend this fall. Those are two trends, but I feel like we can let that slide.

When I styled this look, I wanted to go for something that felt like a seamless transition from summer to fall. I love how effortless a summer dress looks with a pair of sneakers, and the details on this dress, like the neckline, side slit, and shoulder ruching, were too good to pass up. So putting the two together was a no-brainer. Plus, I love the quality of each piece. There's nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in your clothing, so I love that everything feels sturdy and great against my skin. The pieces are also super versatile, so I'll be getting so much wear out of them by styling them in different ways. Win-win!
What is one fall piece you can't live without?
A jacket. As the weather changes, layering becomes increasingly important. So whether it's a biker jacket, shacket, or trench coat, I always try to walk with a jacket to make sure I'm comfortable no matter where I'm going.
Which fall trend are you most excited about?
This fall, we're going to be seeing a lot of vibrant colors, which really excites me. As a native New Yorker, I've always felt like there is this unspoken rule that black and neutrals become the staple shades once we transition from summer into fall, and that can get quite boring, in my opinion. Bright colors will add a much-needed element of fun to the fall season.

Since this black denim jacket was giving me '80s-Prince vibes, especially with the shoulder details, I wanted to balance it out with a pair of black fitted or straight denim jeans and a pointed boot. If you are feeling cool, top it off with some chain accessories and a messy, wolf-cut hairstyle—this way no one can tell you what to do!
What is one fall piece you can't live without?
My black leather jacket.
Which fall trend are you most excited about?
Shackets! I'm obsessed with the endless number of colors they come in and how versatile they are. Definitely a staple piece for my fall wardrobe.

I wanted to keep my look fairly simple with a touch of color. It's perfect for grabbing coffee with a friend or for running around the city. And I love how this jacket just pops with my look.
What is one fall piece you can't live without?
A good pair of boots. I wear them with nearly everything.
Which fall trend are you most excited about?
Oversize jackets. (As you can see!)

For this look, I kept it simple and effortless: a T-shirt lounge dress that can be worn anywhere paired with a combat-style boot that gives the dress a utilitarian edge. Additionally, you could throw on a black leather biker jacket and crossbody fanny-pack bag to give the dress a more stylized street look.
What is one fall piece you can't live without?
A good pair of boots! This is the thing I splurge on every fall season because, in a city like New York, you truly need a boot that's meant for walking. This season I chose these lace-up boots. I love how comfortable and versatile they are!
Which fall trend are you most excited about?
Fall is my absolute favorite season for fashion. I personally love layers, so I'm excited about getting my fall trench coat and leather jacket out in time for the foliage. Both will go great with my new leather boots!
