You know those fashion items that once you come across them, your brain goes into a spiral and they're quite literally all you can think about? Well, this very phenomenon happened to me yesterday morning, and now it's all-consuming.

Here's what happened—I was on my morning Instagram scroll when I stumbled upon a pair of boots that stopped me dead in my tracks and made me do a triple-take. Said boots were on the feet of a cool fashion model I follow, and before I could even blink, I found myself frantically searching the Anine Bing account for them. This was immediately followed by a DM to our editor in chief, Kat Collings, for her opinion on if I should purchase them, so I figured an item that caused this kind of 8 a.m. pre-coffee frenzy for me was worth sharing.

What makes these boots so special? Well, let's start off by pointing out that they hit right on one of the biggest fall 2018 trends—Western. In case you haven't heard yet, cowboy-inspired pieces of all kinds are already popping up everywhere this season, with a major emphasis on boots of the cowboy variety. Now let's talk about the print—yes cow print may seem a bit intimidating to pull off, but since these boots are completely black and white, they almost act as a neutral and can be worn as such (think the same way you would wear leopard print shoes). Animal print is another major theme for fall, so the cow pattern checks yet another box on my list. Finally, let's note that the height of the boots happens to be extremely flattering on the leg.
