Anna Wintour Predicts the #1 Met Gala Red Carpet Trend for 2019
T minus four days until the Met Gala. We've already given you a rundown of this year's theme and revisited Mary-Kate and Ashley's best Met Gala looks of all time, and now the only thing left to do is wait for fashion's biggest night. As co-host and ruler of the coveted guest list, Anna Wintour is an integral part of the event, so who better to look to for red carpet predictions? In a new video for Vogue's Go Ask Anna series, Wintour revealed the trend she thinks will dominate this year: feathers.
"I think this year's exhibition more possibly than any other is about self-expression and individuality," she says in the video. "What we're all, I think, most hoping to see is something that is outrageous, something that is fun, tongue-in-cheek. So my guess is that we're going to see a very large amount of feathers on the red carpet." As we wait with bated breath to see what risk-takers like Rihanna and Sarah Jessica Parker will wear, scroll down to watch more of Wintour's thoughts on the 2019 Met Gala, including the one question she'll never answer.

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
