ASOS Has Given Us the Online Shopping Tool We've Always Wanted
Today, ASOS is launching its Style Match feature on the brand's mobile app for iOS users in Australia. Already available in the UK, Style Match allows shoppers to find matches on ASOS’s website for products they like by using a picture. Whether it’s something seen on the street, in a magazine, or even scrolling through Instagram, shoppers can upload a photo and ASOS will find a similar style for them on the website.
It’s no secret that Instagram has become a huge marketing tool for brands, and with so many people looking to Instagram for style inspiration from influencers and celebrities, this new shopping tool seems like a very savvy move on ASOS’s part.
Have you ever tried to google a description of that perfect blouse that your favourite influencer didn’t tag in her latest photo in order to find out where you can get it? We sure have, and we will admit, it’s no easy feat trying to find what we're looking for. Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words, and to see a brand like ASOS take this idea and make it into a new type of shopping experience is pretty cool.
Needless to say, ASOS understands the market. According to the brand, 80% of its UK traffic comes from mobile, and this is just one feature that will make mobile shopping that much easier. We can’t wait to try it out for ourselves… and this can only mean more online shopping is in our near future.
