I'm a Fashion Editor—This Is What the High Street Is Getting Right This Autumn

From autumnal dresses and cosy knitted vests, to stompy boots and immaculate tailoring, there's so much to love on the high street this season. Dress it up, dress it down or layer it up, it's clear that versatility is the buzzword for autumn 2020, and with our lives become increasingly centred around comfort and practicality, let's just say that we are very much on board.

You might notice that quite a few of the below styles have either been orbiting the fashion sphere over the last couple of winters, or comfortably fall within the 'wardrobe classics' category—this tells us that they are all purchases that will stand the test of time and work hard for many seasons to come. At the top of our wishlist is a pair of chunky boots, which are sure to elevate all our pre-existing autumn staples, be it midi dresses or straight leg jeans, and we also have our eye on layering heroes, such as leather shirts, which may not seem practical now, but will feel oh-so toasty when layered under a wooly knit in a month's time.
