Bachelor Contestants Spend HOW Much Money on Clothes?
So, you already know that The Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher looked amazing this season with the help of stylist Cary Fetman. But what about the ladies of The Bachelor who have the tricky task of packing for the show themselves? Well, Refinery29 interviewed former contestants to get the scoop, and we learned lots of insider tidbits.
The most fascinating thing we learned from the interviews? Just how much money the women spend on their outfits. While one former contestant told Refinery29 that she only spent $200 because she borrowed from friends, the other end of the spectrum could not have been more different.
Sarah Herron, a contestant on Sean Lowe’s season, told Refinery29 how much she shelled out: “For season 1 [of The Bachelor], I spent roughly $6,000. By Bachelor in Paradise 3, I only spent about $2,000 to $3,000. Still, it’s out of control and I’m still paying off my credit cards.” She went on to say that she knows of women who spent upward of $30,000 for the show. Now that’s a mind-blowing statistic.

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
