The Knockout BAFTAs Beauty Looks We Can't Stop Staring At
The BAFTAs 2023 have arrived, and you can best believe that we've been spying all the celebrity looks from the red carpet. As the industry comes together to celebrate the very best in film, the BAFTAs (aka, the British Academy Film Awards) are also the perfect place to find some of the best beauty looks of award season.
As a beauty editor, I've been keeping my eyes peeled to the red carpet for the showstopping beauty moments, from mesmerising makeup to the classiest award-season hair. I've also been keeping tabs on the top makeup artists, hairstylists and nail technicians who are responsible for making the celebrities look their best and doing a deep dive into the products that they actually use to prep them for the red carpet.
Ahead, you'll find all the best beauty looks form the BAFTAs 2023 and all the deets on the beauty products used backstage.
Florence Pugh
Ladies and gentleman, I give you Florence Pugh. If there is anyone who could pull off baby bangs and a fanned bun, it's Miss Flo. Her hairstylist, Peter Lux, took to Instagram to share this beautiful hair moment, which complemented her pleated dress perfectly.
HoYeon Jung
When I refreshed Instagram and this look popped up on my feed, I practically gasped. Makeup artist Nina Park used all Lancôme makeup on HoYeon Jung at the BAFTAs, and doesn't she look incredible? A winged cat eye and red lipstick is a timeless red carpet makeup look, and this one is complete with a simple side-parted bun. I've tracked down the exact lip products used below.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's inky eyeliner and elongated lashes give her makeup a beautiful feline effect, and her slicked-back ponytail lets the makeup shine. After a bit of detective work and zooming in on MUA Harold James's Instagram Stories, I could see a selection of Rose Inc products (Huntington-Whiteley's own makeup collection) dotted on her dressing table, including her Satin Lipcolour Rich Refillable Lipstick and the Cream Blush Refillable Cheek Lip Colour, which is a beauty-editor favourite.
Danielle Deadwyler
Makeup artist Neil Young used entirely Beauty Pie products to create BAFTA nominee Danielle Deadwyler's makeup look for the evening.
Lashana Lynch
Nothing gets my beauty-editor heart racing like a smattering of crystals placed beautifully around the eyes, and Lashana Lynch's crimson lipstick balances the look beautifully.
Aimee Lou Wood
WWW cover star Aimee Lou Wood looked glowing on the red carpet. Her secret? Makeup artist Sara Hill used Chantecaille products on her complexion to achieve that glowing-from-within effect. Hill used Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser SPF15, Radiance Gel Bronzer and Cheek Gelée to achieve the look.
Sara Sampaio
Sara Sampaio's kitten liner and perfectly flushed skin are a winning combination for the red carpet.
Lily James
MUA Sofia Tilbury tended to Lily James's BAFTAs makeup look, which consisted of a perfectly applied liquid eyeliner and soft petal-pink lipstick. James also wore Charlotte Tilbury's latest launch, the Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wand in Pillow Talk, for the evening.
Jodie Turner-Smith
Another bedazzled look from Jodie Turner-Smith, who quite literally sparkled with crystal freckles paired with a lavender shadow and statement liner. Makeup artist Joey Choy used Charlotte Tilbury's Hypnotising Pop Shot in Ultra Violette to create this luminous lavender look.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw
It appears that winged eyeliner was the look of the night, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw wearing the look beautifully.
Munroe Bergdorf
Munroe Bergdorf demonstrates how to do a statement smokey eye.
