Brides Are Opting for This Stunning Wedding Band Trend
Congrats! You found the perfect engagement ring. Better yet, maybe you already have your dream ceremony venue in mind for your nuptials, and you know exactly what you're looking for in terms of what to wear. That means you almost have your entire pre-wedding checklist complete—except that you still need to pick out a wedding band that A) coordinates well with your engagement ring and B) suits your personal style. As it turns out, though, modern-day brides are currently gravitating toward a particular bauble to exchange during their vows—and it's one that has a rich history that dates back over 100 years.
Enter baguette wedding bands, Wholesale Replica Bag trend to take the bridal world by storm. To get a bit of insight into the history of the baguette stone and why it's so popular today, we decided to tap Alicia Davis, VP of merchandise at Shane Co., to ask her about everything from the appeal of this particular band to how it fits in with 2019's biggest wedding trends.
Davis shared withBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing that baguette stones started to gain popularity in the 1900s during the Art Deco period, due to their unique, geometric shape. "During this time, fine jewelry largely disobeyed conventional norms, looking for diamond shapes and metals that weren't the more traditional round diamond set in platinum," she explains, noting Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe as two infamous baguette-band wearers who really put the trend on the map. "Not only did [Monroe and Hepburn] break the convention of a traditional engagement ring, but their baguette wedding bands began to shape a new culture of unique, personalized wedding jewelry," Davis says.
According to Davis, there's a reason brides are loving baguette wedding bands in 2019—and that's because the style perfectly complements the simple, classic engagement rings that are trending right now. "Baguette wedding bands pair so well with a solitaire engagement ring, especially one where the stone is similarly faceted," she says. "Asscher and emerald-cut diamonds are rising in popularity this year, and with the same step-cut faceting as baguettes, the baguette wedding band naturally complements them."
As for how brides are currently wearing their baguette band after saying their "I dos," "historically, baguette bands were only shown in white gold, but with the trends in rose and yellow gold increasing, customers are loving the new modern appeal of these combinations," Davis explains. "Brides are wearing their baguette bands both as a single wedding band or styled with vintage and classic pavé bands in a stack."
