Every month on Who What Wear, Londoner turned Parisienne Marissa Cox of Rue Rodier brings you her style tips straight from the French capital via her column—and earlier this month we brought this to life at French fashion brand Ba&sh’s new home in Covent Garden. Marissa shared with our deputy editor, Emma Spedding, and our readers her styling tips and insights into what the coolest French girls are wearing this autumn.
Parisian style is all about timeless classics, and this is Ba&sh's style philosophy too. The autumn collection includes vibrant prints and colours that you might not typically expect to find in a French wardrobe, but according to Marissa it's all about how you style these pieces and blend them in with the basics. Ba&sh specialises in the classic foundations that make getting dressed in the morning so much easier, such as belted camel coats, blazers, wear-forever boots and easy-to-style midi dresses.
She wouldn't mix bold colours together like you might see in London—instead she would pair a bold or printed dress or skirt with simple boots and tailoring to make it the one focal point of the outfit.

At the event Marissa wore her ultimate French-girl autumn outfit—a checked blazer, with a white T-shirt, light-wash jeans and a pair of ankle boots. She also gave me a Parisian style-over, selecting another typical look—a leopard midi skirt with a black blazer and suede knee-high boots.
