I'm a Beauty Editor With a Fashion Degree—the 25 Items Burning a Hole in My Pocket Right Now
Pieces and products inspired by Dua Lipa and Zoë Kravitz, starting at just $14.
Before I was a beauty editor, I was a fresh college graduate with a fashion degree. Years before that, I was a style-obsessed teen who practiced editorial makeup on anyone who offered to sit in my chair and spent several study halls sketching would-be red carpet gowns for my favorite actresses. Safe to say, I felt at home browsing the glittering displays of beauty and fashion at the mall from a young age even though I was usually window-shopping. That sentiment has only grown stronger now that I've turned my interests into a profession.
My career enables my innate desire to shop online at all hours, which means my wish list is always stacked, regardless of whether I press "purchase" or not. My budget may not be large, and my taste often far outweighs it, but I've amassed a list of fashion and beauty products inspired by my favorite It girls (Dua Lipa, Zoë Kravitz, Hailey Bieber… I could go on) with a healthy mix of high and low price tags to feed my fantasies and my reality. Here is my official winter shopping list, from the fragrances I've snapped pictures of in store to the fashion items I've saved in a "Buy This" iPhone note.
Fashion Wish List
I won't soon forget Kravitz's headline-making lace-trimmed slip skirt, and apparently, neither will my fellowBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing editors. When I saw this asymmetrical lace look-alike from Free People, I immediately added it to my running wish list. I need it in every color.
I was quietly mourning the shift from wide-leg jeans to skinnier silhouettes until I spotted this straight-leg style from Reformation. It checks all of my boxes for winter denim: stretchy fabric (comfort is key), a midnight-dark wash, and a flattering silhouette that doesn't grip every curve. I'm adding these to my cart as I speak.
Like much of the fashion set, I'm on a real zebra kick these days. One of the first ways I like to implement a trending pattern in my wardrobe is with shoes, and striped boots have been on my mind for several months. I've made a habit of buying myself new Schutz Maryana boots for the past few birthdays, and this zebra-striped calf-hair pair might be my pick this year.
I've had this Other Stories woolen shawl on my mind ever since fellow WWW editor Ana Escalante wore it to the office two months ago. Simple without losing interest, this coat has gorgeous draping and quality material, meaning it will go the distance in your wardrobe. While fringe might be trendy right now, this design incorporates the texture in a way that feels timeless.
If I could splurge on a designer bag this year, it would, without a doubt, be this zebra-striped mini tote from Khaite. The structure, the texture, the elegant gold toggle… I'll start saving today.
I may be looking at slimmer cuts when it comes to denim, but I still love the structure and ease of dramatically draped trousers. I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair, and this striped pick from Zara is high on my list of contenders.
Bella Hadid and Bieber have been making a strong case for the fitted button-down, and I'm eyeing this cinched style from All the Ways. Its gathered waist offers the tailored, elegant look that '90s Tom Ford era Gucci made popular, but this option is a bit more in my budget.
Is it just me, or is every cool person wearing a scarf bandana these days? I have this gorgeous cashmere scarf in classic black, but I'm eyeing the other hues with splintering self-restraint. You'll want to act fast, though—these scarves are selling like hot cakes.
I've seen so many of these button-front jackets popping up on the style set, and this Mango number is my top pick. The tailored cut and sharp collar make everything, from a slip skirt (how cute would that Free People skirt look here?) to a pair of low-rise, slouchy jeans, look instantly cool.
I've been thinking about Look 70 from Louise Trotter's Bottega Veneta debut quite a lot recently, and while I'm struggling to find anything that does the fantastical fringe skirt justice, I found a budget-friendly alternative for the structured top at Zara. More like a second cousin than twin, this balloon-sleeved top offers a similar silhouette without the bank-breaking price. Now to find a match for that skirt…
Bottega Veneta S/S 26, Look 70
Maybe I'm just manifesting warmer weather, but I can't get my mind off of these gorgeously sculpted wedges from SimonMiller. The mossy green feels like a surprisingly versatile neutral for the spring and summer outfits that will be here in no time, and I'm itching to buy these wedges before they sell out in my size.
Beauty Wish List
Not to be dramatic, but I think my life would be substantially better if the Victoria Beckham Beauty Foundation Drops were in it. WWW senior beauty editor Jamie Schneider tested these drops for a week and fell deeply in love with the weightless, glowy formula. It's undoubtedly pricey, yet I absolutely need it.
I have a real affinity for dark-blue nail polish, but not just any shade. While strolling the lavish halls of New York City's Printemps, I was stopped in my tracks by this deep-sea shade from celebrity nail artist loved brand Manucurist. Rich marine blue with the faintest hint of slate, this is the perfect shade for my winter manis.
I recently had the luxury of sniffing through the fragrance department of Harrods in Knightsbridge, London, and no perfume jumped out at me quite like Byredo's Black Saffron. Beloved by editors and tastemakers alike, this scent is widely known for its mysterious concoction of citrus, saffron, and woods—a stunning kaleidoscope of earthy scents that I haven't been able to get off my brain since.
While on this Harrods beauty-section jaunt, I made a point to stop by the Hermès counter to try the brand's new natural-finish foundation called Luminous Matte for a bit of extra flair. I was impressed by its easy-to-blend formula, extremely natural finish, and medium coverage. Honestly, I couldn't tell where my skin ended and the foundation began after stippling it on.
This at-home LED device is more expensive than the Khaite bag I have on my fashion wish list, but don't get it twisted. This little tool will save you thousands more dollars on in-office treatments. Celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Richie Grainge are fans of the brand's impressive line of wrinkle-zapping, collagen-stimulating tools, and my fellow beauty editors have raved about this and the brand's more expensive, higher-powered Lyma Laser Pro ad nauseam. Basically, I'm just waiting for my turn to try it.
If there's one facet of makeup that I love above all others, it's eye shadow, specifically when it concerns Danessa Myricks's Colorfix pigments. In late 2025, the brand debuted an eye-shadow-stick version of the famed, ultra-pigmented liquid shadows, and I am champing at the bit to swipe these lustrous metallics onto my lids.
While Byredo's Black Saffron was the fragrance that piqued my interest the most during my Harrods visit, the one that made me want to pull out my credit card was this recent launch from Dior. Sultry and deep yet elegant and unisex, this amber-floral perfume is the perfect signature scent for anyone who adores androgynous fragrances. The salesperson told me this was their everyday scent, and I'm itching to imitate.
I've been a fan of VBB's Eye Wardrobe collection for quite some time but have yet to try the brand's famous eye shadow palettes. This black, white, and shifting-metallic assortment looks like a messy-makeup lover's dream—from the ivory shadow down to the glittering gunmetal. This would be my NYFW go-to for instantly cool, quick makeup looks.
I have been intrigued by Dua Lipa's brand-new skincare line since I first heard about it, and I'm dying to test-drive this daily moisturizer. The line, created in partnership with the famed Augustinus Bader (ahem, the purveyor of one of my favorite luxury moisturizers ever), features three skin-rejuvenating products, but this barrier cream is the one that's vying for a spot in my collection.
I had never heard of this French brand before discovering it in a Peachy Den boutique in London's Shoreditch this past weekend, but ever since experiencing the brand's invigorating scents firsthand, I've been hooked. This androgynous fragrance from Maison Matine paints a picture of bright light and tangerine slices, beach flowers, skin musk, and firewood—a scene I can't get out of my head and a scent I'm adding to my collection ASAP.
