I Live in Striped Jumpers All Year—This Is Where I Find the Best Ones

A great striped jumper is an invaluable wardrobe staple. I genuinely think my Breton knits are my most-worn items ever, despite the fact that I have a closet full of pretty dresses and more. Not only do they add a certain level of French-girl chic to any simple outfit—even if it’s just jeans and a T-shirt—but they also work all year round. At least, they do when you live in the UK. In summer, I’m rarely without a striped jumper either tied around my shoulders or thrown in my basket bag in case of a rogue downpour or chilly evening, and in spring, autumn and winter, they’re my layering saviour.

So, I hear you ask, if I’m such a striped-jumper expert, where would I recommend buying the best ones? It’s not from an insanely expensive designer cashmere brand. My favourite Breton knits of all time have actually come from Other Stories. The dependable high-street brand is known for its great-quality staples with a stylish twist, and its perfect striped jumpers are no exception to that rule. And I’m not the only one who always heads here for this hero buy—so many influencers have been spotted in Other Stories striped jumpers too.

This striped jumper sold out so many times last year. It's in stock right now, though.

So many influencers love this collared style

In fact, they were so popular last autumn/winter that the brand could barely restock them fast enough, with certain styles flying out within days, even hours, of arriving on site. The Striped Wool Knit Sweater and the Relaxed Collared Sweater, in particular, were harder to get than Glastonbury tickets. But since we’re in this trans-seasonal time of year and just starting to look ahead to cooler months, you’re in luck if you’ve been wanting to get your hands on one—stock levels are looking good right now. I can promise that won’t last long though, so I’ve pulled together an edit below of my favourite Other Stories striped knits to shop now. Keep scrolling to see!
