Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kaitlyn, and I'm a beauty editor who's obsessed with bodycare. That means I have about 10 bottles of lotions and creams under my sink at any given moment, and they're all in various stages of testing. Add in the fact that I just moved back to the Midwest after spending six years in L.A. and Austin, and my love—nay, need—for body moisturizers has only intensified. After all, it's drier and colder here, and I don't necessarily want my skin to reflect that.

Since my skin has been particularly parched lately (and flaky and red and tight-feeling… sigh), I'm forgoing body lotion for something more effective: body butter. Compared to lotions, butters are normally thicker, richer, and more moisturizing thanks to formulas that lean heavily on naturally derived plant oils and (you guessed it) butters. I'm talking about skin-softening and smoothing ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, and more. Ahead, check out the 10 formulas I count on when I want to *actually* transform my dry skin.
