The 9 Brands Fashion Editors Always Buy Their Basics From
If you ask any fashion editor which part of their wardrobe gets the most attention, they'll probably say basics. Forming the essential groundwork for all outfits, these hard-working buys may fade into the background, but they can be surprisingly hard to get right. After all, the lack of adornment or distraction means there's more emphasis on perfect fit and quality fabrics—essentially, there's nowhere to hide.
Everyone has their preferred brands for the different basics in their wardrobe. For example, I always go to Arket for white T-shirts and crew-neck knits. There are, however, a handful of brands that are widely regarded as fail-safes in the basics department, both at high-street and designer ends of the market. So I did a bit of a poll amongst my fellow editors to find out which brands they turn to again and again for those perfect jeans, boots, roll-neck knits or Breton tops.
