Lily James Wore the Flat-Shoe Trend Kate Middleton and Anna Wintour Also Love

Not to toot my own horn, but I definitely have a knack for identifying common themes among celebrity outfits. For instance, Jennifer Lopez recently wore a baggy white pantsuit that reminded me of a strikingly similar Meghan Markle outfit. I also wrote a story on the Y2K bag that Bella Hadid and Madison Beer both own. For all of you skeptics out there, no, it's not about comparing women to each other—it's about tracing the evolution of a trend from runways to celebrities to retailers and beyond.

Now, I spotted another recurrent item: flat espadrilles. Both Kate Middleton and Anna Wintour have worn the shoe trend, and now Lily James is hopping on board. Photographed in London, she wore an army green outfit with flat espadrilles that are available at a wide range of prices, from $25 H&M ones to $775 Prada versions. Scroll down to see her outfit and shop the best flat espadrilles for women.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
