Texas! Palm Springs! Nashville! I’ve Been to Them All—These Are the Jeans I Saw Cool People Wear with Cowboy Boots
Western style has recently cemented itself as more of an aesthetic than a trend. The new wave we’re seeing among the fashion crowd is an elevated take on Western-inspired pieces. People are loving the forever-favorite Wally Boot by Staud, denim shirting, and statement belt buckles. These accessories can give any look a Southern "twang” without feeling like too much of a statement. With this new era of the Western aesthetic on the rise, I’m telling you not to get rid of your cowboy boots. Trust me—you’ll want to be wearing them in 2026.
In the past few years, I've traveled to Palm Springs, Texas, and Nashville—at this point, I've seen incredibly chic cowboy boots outfits. With how comfortable they are, it makes total sense. The aesthetic has already had an effect on my personal style. I mean, I’m wearing my favorite cowboy boots as we speak, so I think that’s saying something. I’m filling up my denim drawers for the year and figuring out which styles I’ll be wearing the most. I had to take note of the five types of denim that everyone wore with cowboy boots in Texas to aid in my decision-making process, so explore my observations below.
1. Slim-Fit Jeans
Skinny jeans are looking to make a comeback, and while we’re only at the beginning of the return of this wardrobe staple, it won’t be long before everyone wants their hands on them. I’m not quite there yet, but slim-fit jeans have definitely caught my eye and are almost the same thing. While most people would think to wear them tucked into a pair of cowboy boots, during my time in Texas, I liked seeing people do the opposite.
2. Light Wash Jeans
In New York and Paris, dark wash denim is all the rage right now and yes it looks good with cowboy boots. But in the wild, wild, west—I am seeing light wash jeans pop up more than anywhere else. There's a special place in this world out there for them anywhere that cowboy boots are.
3. Denim Dresses
Ok, I know denim dresses don't technically qualify as a pair of jeans but since they're in the denim category and this outfit by Bella Hadid blew me away, I just had to include this underrated staple. The way people style cowboy boots is evolving slowly over time and as we enter a new year where these boots are on everybody's feet, a fresh way to wear them would be similar to how Hadid did. It'll make your old pair of boots feel brand new.
4. Wide-Leg Jeans
Now, this one is a given. Every fashion person’s favorite denim style right now just so happens to be wide-leg jeans. If you’re not ready to commit to cowboy boots taking over your wardrobe but want to let people peek at them, this trend is for you.
5. Denim Miniskirts
While I have so much love for long skirts, nothing feels better than wearing a mini in warm weather. Cowboy boots definitely pair well with this style, and despite the colder temps, I saw people in Texas showing off their legs with a pair of cowboy boots and a denim mini.
