#AddtoCart: This Is What Everyone Will Be Wearing at Coachella
Let’s remind ourselves just how much H&M loves music: This is the brand that reunited The Backstreet Boys, gave us sweet memories of Chance the Rapper and Joe Jonas getting down to N.W.A, is collaborating with The Weeknd, and once co-hosted a Coachella party with Alexander Wang. To say that H&M celebrates the intersection of music and fashion is no overstatement.
In case you needed more proof, 2017 brings another H&M capsule collection completely dedicated to the festival the fashion industry can’t stop talking about. The H&M Loves Coachella campaign stars the piercing blue eyes of model/Instagram superstar Lucky Blue Smith and his three unsurprisingly cool sisters. (Fittingly, their band, The Atomics, makes its Coachella debut next month.)
The collection, which was created in collaboration with the Indio, California, festival, is refreshingly free of clichés. To wit, flower crowns are nowhere to be seen—instead, florals come strictly by way of on-trend denim embroidery. Other trending looks? Metallics, bodysuits, pops of pink, lots of lace, and, of course, the logo tee. Think beyond Coachella—this is everything you need for spring.
Already mentally packing for festival season? Here are all the must-have pieces from the H&M Loves Coachella collection.
Spring Vibes
Major spring trends like embellished denim, blush pink, and logo tees should be finding their way into your wardrobe whether you’re hitting the desert this festival season or not. Our top pick: this denim jacket that hits all of spring’s high notes, including a frayed hem, oversize pockets, and floral-embroidered detailing (front and back).
Intergalactic Touches
No Coachella wardrobe is complete without statement jewelry and pieces for layering as the nights turn chilly. This festival season, outfit accents have a space-age feel: Metallics are back in a big way, and not just by way of accessories—light jackets and hoodies have been upgraded to statement pieces that are perfect tied at the waist by day. Bodysuits certainly aren’t to be missed—our pick is this luminous number, made of recycled polyester and begging to be worn with high-waisted denim. And as for oversize earrings? They’ve gone stellar.
Sheer Details
It’s no surprise that sheer pieces are a major trend this festival season. Light layers reign supreme at Coachella, and even chokers feel less heavy. Lace detailing is everywhere, from slip dresses to halter-neck tanks (because who needs to battle straps that slip when they’re busy rocking out?). It-girl styling tip: Make like campaign star Starlie Smith and layer this lace-trimmed slip over your Coachella tee.
