Body Veils Are the "Naked" Trend Hitting 2018
Celebrities have been quick to adopt the “naked dress” trend, wearing everything from a subtle nude slip style to a “level 10” version. And while our eyes have adjusted to seeing ultra-sheer dresses all over the red carpet, we’re predicting that we’ll be seeing a lot more see-through styles popping up next season. And there’s a brand-new iteration we’re preparing for: body veils.
Seen all over the S/S 18 runways, “body veils” are an entirely fresh-feeling way to wear transparent pieces. A revival of the minimal organza pieces from the ’90s made popular by Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein and models like Kate Moss, the styles are about to return in a big way. But what’s the best way to pull them off? The key to wearing them in real life is layering. Try wearing a lace bra underneath a gauzy hoodie or styling a long button-down underneath a ruffled skirt. If you’re ready to wear the new trend, we’ve rounded up our favorite styles to try it out.
Go on to shop the coolest sheer pieces from Off-White, Balenciaga, H&M, and more.
