I Love What Anna Wintour and Margot Robbie Just Wore to the Chanel Show
Chanel shows never leave us wanting when it comes to what's on the runway and who is there looking at it from the front row. Today saw the first haute couture show without Karl Lagerfeld at the helm, but his strong vision could still be keenly felt through the decisions his successor, long-time Chanel collaborator Virginie Viard, introduced. From the austere buttoned bouclé coats through to the white hosiery worn with bow-fronted monochrome pumps, there were continuing themes that Monsieur Lagerfeld has touched upon so many times over the decade, only things felt a little more restrained, a little quieter and less elaborate than the couture shows of previous seasons.
As closely as we were watching the clothes and accessories (those aforementioned shoes are bound to be desired the world over), the celebrities in attendance also caught our eye, namely Anna Wintour who strayed away from her usual Manolo Blahnik nude sling-backs (WTF!) and Margot Robbie, who dished out a lesson in what A/W 19 is all about (one word: tights).
Keep scrolling to see who was at the Chanel Haute Couture 2020 show and what they wore.
Style Notes: Although it's a scorching day, Margot couldn't help resist two of next season's big trends: checked jackets and fancy tights.
Style Notes: Looking as cool as a cucumber in white, Caroline's high-low mix here of sneakers and Chanel is very covetable.
Style Notes: Some combinations never get hold—pearls and tweed, for example.
Style Notes: What are these pale blue-grey shoes we hear you scream? Anna's layered shirtdress and different sandals are out of the ordinary, and we like it.
Style Notes: Straight-leg trousers are becoming ever more popular thanks to their denim counterparts.
Style Notes: No one does laid-back like Inès, and this double indigo combination—complete with hands in pocket and effortless charm—is impressive.

Style Notes: Hi, Rachel Zoe! Haven't seen you in a a while. Enjoying this louche PJ set.
Style Notes: The hemlines at couture fashion week have been quite short—but a mini always looks cute with Mary Janes.
Style Notes: My forever icon, Isabelle makes a very cutesy outfit look sophisticated with those pumps.
Style Notes: Something tells me those Mary Jane shoes are going to be the next big hit for Chanel…
Style Notes: Sometimes the simplest dresses are the best dresses. This is trés chic.
Style Notes: French girls will wear black accessories with anything and everything, and it always seems to work.
Style Notes: For a split second, I thought this was Nicole Kidman. Emily really pulls off the '60s look with great ease.
Next up, see what everyone's wearing to Wimbledon.
