The first day of summer has officially come and gone. At the beginning of every new season, I always wonder what trends fashion people love for the season ahead. With summer, there are certain trends you can anticipate making a comeback (they return every year). This summer, however, new trends have emerged that I definitely didn't see coming. After combing through the Instagram accounts of my favorite It girls and fashion people, it's clear that five chic trends will reign supreme for summer 2023.

Keep scrolling to see which five summer trends I'll obsess over this season.

Linen Moments

One fabric reigns supreme every summer: linen. Whether it's linen pants or a linen dress, this breathable fabric is a well-loved favorite for a reason. It's chic, comfortable, and lightweight.

Sea-Inspired Jewelry

I'm not sure if it's because everyone loves the new live-action Little Mermaid, but sea-inspired jewelry is everywhere. I'm a fan of seashell earrings.

Maxi Hemlines

Move over, miniskirts! Maxi skirts and dresses are hanging in the closets of all your favorite It girls and fashion people. You can dress them up or down, and they're perfect for a summer vacation.

Raffia accessories

Raffia and straw accessories come back in style every summer. Personally, I'm a huge fan. I love a good raffia accessory paired with an all-white outfit.

Crochet Chic

Some may say crochet is dated, but I believe it's a classic trend. There is nothing like a good crochet dress for dinner on the beach or to bring with you on vacation. I'm waiting until the perfect moment to bust out my crochet dress collection.
