Every Winter Trend and Basic You Need, All Under $100
This is as straightforward as it gets. Below, you’ll find 19 winter must-haves—10 basics and 9 trends—each of which I’ve found an editor-approved version for under $100. In some cases, well under. Why? To prove that no matter your budget, you can feel refreshed for the season at hand, whether it’s by picking up one or two new pieces or doing more of a major wardrobe overhaul. Plus, it’s kind of my job—and I love perusing the internet!
So what should you expect below? Everything from my favorite $75 cashmere sweater (yes, you read that right) to boots for day and night to statement outerwear. You’ll probably see some familiar brands as well as others you might want to consider bookmarking. And even if you did all your winter shopping on Cyber Monday already, at the very least, you can use this as a tool to get your closet organized and in order. Ready to get started? Just keep scrolling.
Winter Basics
Puffer
When it comes to puffers, I'm partial to simple styles these days.
Sweater
I pretty much live in this sweater from November to February.
Turtleneck
For when you don't feel like wearing a scarf but also don't want your neck to freeze.
Sunglasses
Anyone else like to opt for a darker pair of shades in the colder months?
Jeans
Trousers
Bonus: Front-slit pants are perfect for showing off your shoes.
Scarf
Gloves
As much as I don't enjoy wearing gloves, there's no denying they're a necessity.
Socks
High socks are a must once the temperatures drop. Not only do they keep your lower legs warm, but they also protect your ankles from the irritation of ankle boots.
Utility Boots
I find that lug-sole boots with a little extra height make dressing cool in the winter a lot easier—even on snow days.
Winter Trends
Oversize Blazer
Statement Coat
Leather Shirt
Leather anything counts, really, but the shirt is a versatile way to add the trend to your wardrobe.
Layered-Look Sweater
Channel the knit-on-knit trend without the hassle of actually layering anything yourself.
Cardigan
Printed Turtleneck
Tent Dress
Snake-Print Pants
Knee Boots

Upon joining, she was a senior about to graduate from business school at USC. Fast-forward to 2025, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was just starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content and her Trust Me—Buy This newsletter. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to neutral, classic pieces but will always make an exception for something colorful or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a party is dressing up for one. On her downtime, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
