The 25 Best Classic Jumpers for Autumn, Hands Down
I've always wholeheartedly believed that I'm a summer person through and through—at least until autumn, when I remember how much joy great knitwear and a new coat bring me. And while I'll always be a sucker for the sunshine, my head can't help but turn to all the cosy newness out there right now. It turns out I'm actually a bit of a knitwear person after all, a fact that has been cemented by the realisation that I currently own five monochrome striped knits in slightly different variations, which I wear on rotation and love. And although I have quite a few sweaters, as I've gotten older, I tend to choose quality over quantity to ensure my knitwear lasts.
This doesn't mean they have to be super expensive, though. In fact, some of the best knitwear I've spotted recently has come through from the likes of H&M, COS, M&S and Arket. All these high-street heroes know how to create classic, stylish knits that are destined to become wardrobe staples, so I always head there first. Designers aren't falling short of killer knits, though—far from it. Ganni, Totême, The Row and Khaite have proven this below.
No matter your budget, I've scoured some of my favourite brands to find you the 24 best jumpers to wear and love this season and beyond.
1. Jumpers Under £50
I believe no autumn wardrobe is complete without a mono-striped sweater.
Whatever colour you go for (there are eight to choose from), the shape and fabrication of this knit will ensure it becomes a firm wardrobe hero.
Other Stories's best-selling mock-neck knit is so affordable and such good quality.
2. Jumpers Under £100
I love that there's a matching scarf for this one, too.
3. Jumpers Under £300
Imagine this as your Christmas-day look with tailored trousers and sparkly heels.
4. Jumpers Over £400
It's an investment, but The Row's sweater is worth it.
The caramel and chocolate version of Totême's cult knit gets my vote.
There are endless outfit opportunities with this fluffy jumper.
I can't wait to wear this investment knit with leggings and knee-high boots, over slip skirts with heels and with denim and trainers at the weekend.
