9 Winter "Trends" for People With Classic Style

If you like to dress cool and current without looking too trendy, or worse, overspending on short-lived trends, this story is for you. If you have a classic style but like to keep it feeling fresh, of the moment, and not too boring, then this story is also for you. If, like me, you fall into both of the aforementioned categories, then you're really in the right place, so buckle up.

Below I've rounded up nine items for winter that all the cool girls are wearing right now, but that still feel timeless. Think sheer tights, furry accessories, knee boots, and more. You know, pieces that are cool but not too crazy either. To see what else made the list, how to style them and, of course, shop my picks for each one, simply keep scrolling.

Whether you opt for shearling, animal print, or some other interesting texture and/or color, a statement coat really is a forever piece that will keep you looking cool regardless of what's underneath!

2. Tailoring

Suits and tailored pieces definitely ebb and flow in their popularity, however they are never truly out. So, seeing as they are very much in right now, it's a great time to bust yours out of the closet and wear them.

3. Leopard print

I love leopard print in any season but it really hits different in the winter, doesn't it? You can go big by opting for RTW or just add a little pop by way of an accessory. Either way, go for it and you won't regret doing so.

4. Cable knit

As much as I don't look forward to the frigid temps of an NYC winter, I can't help but get excited about getting back into my cozy cable knits again. There's just something about the knitwear style that looks so luxe and adds an interesting element of texture to any outfit.

5. Sheer tights

I'm so glad sheer tights are back to getting the respect they deserve. Whether you wear them with a dress, skirt, or even under pants with pumps so just a little shows, they're functional, fashionable, and always make an outfit better.

6. Fuzzy accessories

This one made me want to go digging through my grandmother's closet because I know she must have a scarf just like that somewhere in there and likely so many more goodies. Faux fur and shearling accessories can take the simplest outfit and make it interesting or take your favorite basics and turn them into a winter ready outfit. Don't sleep on them!

7. Knee boots

So many boot trends come and go, but knee boots really are forever. Plus, they can be worn so many ways and always made to feel fresh and new. Remember when we were tucking our trousers into them a few years back? Kind of glad that's over but you can take those same boots and style them as seen above for a more current look.

8. All black outfits

Whenever I want to buy into a trend or silhouette a little outside my comfort zone, buying it in black is like a safety net for me because I can ensure it will be easy to style and still feel like me. Having those pieces in my closet lets me come up with countless all-black outfits that feel cool and current yet still classic.

9. Loafers

If you, too, can't open Instagram or Tiktok without seeing countless loafers outfits, don't let that fool you into thinking they're just a trendy pieces. They're arguably one of the most classic shoe choices around and while the ways to style them can evolve—right now the fashion girlies are partial to pairing them with socks and tights—the shoe is still forever.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here atBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing , and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2024, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch Summer House.
